I wonder with Phil saying that ABK is an accelerant to their plans, if they'll be any future plans which are now brought forward...
U'know...Something like removing Xbox Live Gold? Lol. ABK should provide a large boost to Game Pass but also, Microsoft now has complete revenue control over one of the biggest multiplayer titles in the industry, 100% from Xbox stores, 70% from PlayStation stores, they have Warzone now which is F2P, they have Overwatch 2 which is F2P, Halo is F2P.
Maybe dumping XBLG could increase the amount spent on COD even by lowering barrier to access and increasing MTX spend.

This deal should benefit those who don't even care for ABK as well, in ways they won't notice but still. Minecraft and now King + COD will in effect basically be funders of the Microsoft Gaming division, all the money ABK brings in will help Microsoft Gaming stand on its own two feet even further and reinvest that money back into itself, which could come in the form of new features, new exclusives, etc.
Won't change much for the Xbox console in the short-mid term but will definitely be a major development for Xbox as a whole.

They way I see it ABK (and by extension PlayStation) are going to be subsidizing the rest of Xbox first party. IMO, whatever the next mainline Halo title is should go away from being a service title and get back to the series roots.
I'm gonna miss getting screwed over on COD content each year.
...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

That can’t be right. I was told this will only mean lower quality games, more GaaS with more monetization, and less creativity.
Got bored, I looked at the segment breakdown for Microsoft's FY22.
Then added Activision-Blizzard to it over the same period of time.
What you think? Gaming taking over Windows for FY24? (Starting July 23 - Ends July 24).
On a different topic: Seems like the guys at PC Gamer have already decided what score they will give to Starfield. At this point I will be REALLY surprised if either them, Game Rant, or Metro.uk give this game anything higher than 70.
