It's cause it's Bethesda who was doing the marketing, not Xbox. It's also rare because Xbox has nothing to market low-key

Xbox can market when they have AAAs to market. They should market their smaller titles more though...Idk...Bundle them with the Xbox...Do some physical editions for them...

Ok, then that means Starfield should be good on the marketing end. I couldn't watch anything on Hulu the past 2-3 weeks without seeing a Redfall ad at the start. Same with Youtube,

Definitely. Starfield is the Spider-Man 2 level exclusive for Xbox this year. Probably the biggest exclusive in the past decade for Xbox. So after the Starfield Direct on June 11th, you're going to see a lot of marketing leading up to release! Which even if it wasn't exclusive, mainline Bethesda games are always an industry shaking event.

I have been following Xbox news in some capacity for 21 years, and in those 21 years I think the only week Xbox has had that was was from a PR standpoint than the last 7 days was the 2013 E3 reveal of the Xbox one. I genuinely cannot think of any other point that comes close

I mean, RROD was pretty bad as well lol. I remember getting a replacement 360 that immediately booted up with a red ring

It's such a great shame that MS

doesn't

have

any

other

games in the works. Better start panicking.

Lol, sorry.

You...You left out Fable...

Man, I really hope Avowed has just one massively long dungeon underground like Moria and it's infested with creatures of all sizes.

I was going to include it, but I was mostly seeing screenshots for the original.

But I did find one.

I wasn't apart of gaming forums during X360 gen and in some ways it's better, in other ways not.

But Xbox One reveal was worse, I don't even think that was the worse though, Lionhead being closed was absolutely the worst period and Press Play was shutdown in the same month along with Fable Legends being cancelled, this all happened in a single month, it was awful.

Around the same period there were rumours from genuine insiders that Xbox has received a large budget cut hence why everything was being cancelled and shutdown. The year before that, Phantom Dust was cancelled which led to the studio who was creating it to be shutdown, the year after Lionhead was Scalebound being cancelled, it was about 3 years of horrible Xbox news, Lol.

And of course, very few games and what did release, more likely than not was poorly received, Halo 5 had an awful reception alongside TMCC being broken for years, it wasn't until Game Pass in June 2017 where things started looking up and then the recommitment to Xbox by Microsoft in 2018.

There was even heavy talk that Xbox was maybe about to be shutdown and genuine fear of that happening, Phil essentially confirmed that fear was true when Satya asked him why Microsoft is still in Gaming and Phil had to sell him on a new idea to commit to Gaming again.

Now, eh, they'll have stumbles, literally every single publisher in the world has stumbles, but I'm optimistic for the future overall and I have no fear about Microsoft pulling the rug on Xbox anymore, Satya has made his commitment clear and Gaming is too large now for Microsoft to dump it, thanks to Phil turning it into a $16bn revenue business.

2016 was pretty crazy bad.

2016:

Microsoft may have closed five more internal game studios

Forgot that Team Dakota, BigPark and Soho Productions were also shutdown.

And Lift London went from a gaming studio to merged into Microsoft somewhere else.

Anyone have Dead Island 2?

Not yet, going to try and pick it up once I finish off Redfall and Ghostwire Tokyo.

Gotta say, the more I play of Redfall, the more I enjoy it. I'm getting more Legendary drops now which really helps with the gameplay side of things, while the storytelling, both through quests and through the collectibles (both audio and written), is also getting more and more interesting the further I go.
