To be fair, it ticks the boxes a lot of gamers are looking for.
Though I am not sure Elden Ring is out of this battle. That game got universal acclaim from the critics and gamers alike. That being said, it is a niche type of game compared to GoW. So it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. I usually don’t disagree with the game getting the GOTY award, even if it’s not always the one I favour.
