No, I have investigated this and found out that the rumours about Nintendo going for

is incorrect and came about when a Nintendo employment advert for a scriptwriter with a history in fantasy fiction was published alongside an article about the video game industries supply chain issues, that  mentioned that a shortage of colour crayons was having an impact at Nintendo.

The part concerning the scriptwriter was clarified by Nintendo when they stated that the fantasy fiction criteria for the job should have made it obvious that it was referencing a public relations position. In the case of the crayon shortage a spokesman assured us that while the crayon shortage was real they had a contingency plan in place that gave them access to millions of coloured pencils.
