Do your airmiles expire? If not, like I said, I'd hold out on the decision until Microsoft fixes its design problems and Sony gets more games out.

And what design problems would that be? If your refering to the high console fail rate, that was the initial shipments. I have yet to see any evidence that there's anything wrong with 360's made in the last 10 months.
As for the topic, I'd chose the 360 over the PS3 if they were both free. Of course, I have no high def tv and still watch quite a few VHS movies...
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Shane of EGM and 1up.com said on 1ups latest podcast "Amoung the 360's at EGM we've had around 75% failure rate so far"
Mark of gamevideos.com and 1up.com said right after Shane "Yup, probably the same at gamevideos"

It's not fixed. My friend has a 360 (I just play his), and it's been returned via Best Buy extended warranty twice. Neither were "initial shipments".
Yeah, initially there was a lot of defective consoles manufactured. A lot failed and Microsoft extended the warranty. But so far NEW(relatively new) consoles seem to work just fine. At least that seems to be the case. If new reports of high failure rates among recently manufactured 360's surface, then it's a different story. But so far it just seems like a fixed problem that some people just won't let go.
Now I'm not trying to defend the early 360, I'm just saying that problems been fixed.

hmm yeah I wish they would fix their build quality. Thats about the only big problem I have upon considering a purchase. Hopefully the failure rates will improve and things will look good.
crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.
It's not a problem of build quality. From many discussions elsewhere among 360 owners, it seems to be a design flaw that causes overheating and warping. And that's just pertaining to the red ring. We've had a 360 that often has trouble with discs, giving disc read errors. I don't know why Microsoft consoles always seem to have those errors. I have an original Xbox and sometimes got those same errors. And we take good care of our consoles, so it's not us. We have some of the first PS2's and they're still going despite the reports that those were supposed to be problematic.

IF you are Not interested in 75% of these titles, then you should probably buy x360. |
The real questions are will 75% of those titles ever see the light of day and if so will they run at more than 30 FPS.
OR how many of them will actually play well, and not rely merely on the graphics of the PS3.
Well. Hardware issues pay for online play Way smaller 1st party then Sonys. No BR Online play on Resistance easily beats the online on Gears, and its free.
