I feel that the term "review bomb" is unfairly criticised. When a game gets a lot of positive reviews it's "overwhelming support", but when a game gets a lot of negative reviews it's a "malicious review bomb". I can only think of a very few cases where the review bomb was done for reasons outside of the quality of the game or a controversial thing done by the developers/publishers.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Huh, I thought the term "review bombing" was something a bunch of people did to attack a game. I didn't think a game just reviewing badly (by professional reviewers) was considered being "review bombed", that's just how I've always taken it though, maybe I'm wrong.

Here's a game that got review bombed:
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
Or maybe more like rating bombed, since most actually written reviews on Metacritic are positive.
