GOOD LUCK
Never had pain from SMG except when I played for 5 hours straight but that has a good reason for it.
Former something....

I played the Wii at my cousin's house (DMeisterJ). And he knows how I felt about the Wii. When I was over there I played Wii Sports, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. Some awesome games by the way. But for me the Wii-mote was different to grasp then others because I for one am not use to it. Unlike some rabid fanboys who love Nintendo will defintely find ways to get use to it in like 20 minutes and say its a awesome experience. And to tell you the truth the Wii-mote is awesome itself. Maybe once I get one I can pass judgement on the experience. I'm more like telling you a personal experience from me playing it over a peeps house. |
Well, you don't have to be a "rabid fanboy" to get used to it in twenty minutes. I'm primarily a PC gamer and while it was really strange at first it's not so bad once you get used to it.
Unlike what is depicted in the commercials, only small movements are required for most wiimote actions. I'd never play the thing standing up or with my arms up in the air.

I agree. The auto camera is very good, probably the best I have seen. Still, it's taking me a bit of time to readjust from controlling my own camera. BTW, I figured out my problem... I was sitting on the wrong side of the couch. The way I had my weight balanced was putting weight on my elbow and constricting wrist movement a little, just enough to hurt it over time. I suddenly had the realization that when I played my old Wii, I was on the other side of the couch. Moved over and now it's fine. And I just got to my first "real" SMG level... The Rocky Road Galaxy. Once I heard that old school Mario music kick up, I yelled "Hell YES! This is gonna be HARD!" And it was. Not terribly difficult, but enough to make me die a few times and that's all I ask for. Easy Mario games just don't do it for me. |

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

You haven't seen anything yet... Rockey Road is nothing. Come back when you've hit a star called "Luigi's Purple Coins."

@ecurbj:
I shall praise nothing. I hate pretty much every game and console developed by man. Except the Genesis. But I blame that on myself, for I was young and stupid.

I think RP is getting soft in his extremely advanced age. Also, the constant sex that he's having as the result of getting married is causing his wrists to atrophy. *snicker* Glad you figured out the cause though. Usually it's something subtle that can make a world of difference. Also, take your old man pills, you crotchety old man.
In all seriousness, I've been able to relax and play virtually any Wii game (IR pointing or not) while laying down on my couch, which itself points toward the screen. Since the nunchuk generally can be anywhere, and the sensor bar is the most sensitive part, (Easily obscured if it gets too far back on the top of the TV, in my case) once I've got the bar in the right place I can lounge the same way I can with a more standard controller like the 360. (And I play on a 60" LCD TV, so my required wrist movement for the IR pointing is probably more than most.) I've played everything from Mario Galaxy to Zelda to RE4 for the Wii this way and generally only have a few odd moments I need to move the remote from its usual resting place near my side.The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.
@Naz:
I hope so. I beat every secret level in Sunshine and I want hard. I expect hard from Mario platformers; it's one of the things I love about it. Mario platformers aren't hard in the RE "omg you suck as a cheap developer hard", Big N just makes it legitimately difficult.

lol...your just like me, I didn't mean to praise the Wii, bro. I meant you should like it, because you own it.
I like the Genesis also....

Out of the 120 stars in the game I would say about 40 are truly challenging. Be sure to go to the final boss as soon as you get 60. If you wait till you have collected everything you can before going, you won't have much diversity in the remaining stars.
