Ukraine is a little tired of playing defense all the time, has crossed into the Russian border to go into the kursk oblast. Remember how hitler had that huge tank battle in kursk and it was the site of the largest tank battle in history? nazis vs russians part 2? yuk yuk yuk, just kidding. But yeah, very glad that they are feeling ballsy and coming to send some russians to the devil

This may be the first time that Ukraine itself is invading Russia rather than "Russian Volunteer Forces" Hmm.

I don't expect it to amount to much, it's likely another distraction as Russia is advancing elsewhere so they want to force Russia to pull reserves elsewhere. I've always said though that the best way to deal with Russia's mines may be to go around them instead of through them but the West would never allow such a move, I expect America will be on the phone soon telling Ukraine to stop, stupidly.

Russian rail networks are being hampered by sanctions. Things like ball bearings and other things are getting harder to find. Newsweek is saying that they are on the verge of collapse lmao

I don't expect this to amount to much, either. Ukraine is in no position to go on the offensive. They are probably just wanting to fight some unprepared border guards and get out of the area soon.

The beast is rotting from the belly-outward

Interesting for the Rail suppliers. I know Siemens pulled out of Russia in 2022, and reason to believe other Western Rail companies likes Alstom, Bombardier, Hitachi would have as well.
Biggest one though is CRRC, which is Chinese. Not sure if it had much of a presence in Russia pre-war but it will certainly want to make moves, even if waits until after the war ends.
