Shame this works on cowards like Scholz.

Redline #5,000!

Then the west should just say, we agree that there should be serious consequence for strikes on peaceful city quarters, that's why we will allow Ukraine to strike military target within Russia with western weapons for each time Russia deliberately targeted civilian and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

I'm certain Ukraine would be happy to keep count.

Okay so UK and France have both publicly said they support Ukraine attacking Russia with western weapons and yet Zelenskyy said Storm Shadow can't be used on Russian territory so what gives? Do they simply support it in theory but are too cowardly to move ahead without America/Germany?

NATO feels that Sweden should pause sending Gripens to Ukraine so that they can get the F-16 figured out with respect to things like maintenence and logistics of parts and so forth. Another question is where are the Gripens going to be stationed? In airfields outside of Ukraine or inside? Ukraine is in a war situation and doesn't have the budget to continually repair its airstrips. The F-16 needs flawless airstrips or a tiny chunk of rock will get in the engine and destroy it. It it is to be kept in ukraine then it wiill have to use bases very far from the front and even then only a couple would be available. Russia knows this and could focus on targeting these. Or, they could be stationed in a nearby country-Poland and Slovakia come to mind since they seem very pro-ukraine.  The Gripen on the other hand, wouldnt need such nice runways since it has landing gear that lifts the planes up higher, and keeps stuff from getting in them.  They can even land on highways and do so regularly in Sweden.  It's a shame that Ukraine has to have a really good plane if it is vulnerable when a good one that isn't vulnerable is being pushed aside.

Unlikely they'd be allowed to launch from other countries, so Ukraine is going to have to constantly keep them on the move and have a shit ton of air defence, the latter of which they aren't getting, their MIGs are constantly on the move though changing airfield to airfield. With the AD support lacking it's all they can really do, constantly being on the move will increase maintenance though

At a press conference, Chancellor Olaf Scholz states that Ukraine may very well defend itself on Russian territory. Although it is a “different question” what happens if this is being done with Western provided weapons (also with German ones), however, there are agreements that this must take place within the framework of international law.

To me, it sounds like he is indicating that he would accept Ukraine striking on Russian soil with German-delivered weapon systems.

Interesting statement. Up to now, Scholz has repeatedly emphasised that Ukraine may only defend itself on its own territory with the weapons supplied by Germany — most recently two days ago during a citizens' dialogue to mark 75 years of the Basic Law.

I do wonder if Scholz said what he said because Macron blindsided him, Lol. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Also Biden's foreign policy is a complete joke. When is Europe going to wake up? Lets move without America.
