The USA wants to play a different role on the world stage. That is their rightful choice. It's a shame other countries can't seem to find that out. USA is no longer interested in a democratic world, it sees foreign affairs solely as a means for short term profits. It's about time the remaining free world sees that and acts accordingly, instead of hoping the US goes back to its old ways.

What the USA wants is irrelevant.
The world backed the USA when the USA decided to invade the Middle East.

...But when the world wants to support an ally that is being invaded by a foreign aggressor, the USA wants minimal involvement?

Why the fuck should my country then support the USA going forwards if it's not willing to give as much as it takes?

We have alliances and mutual agreements for a reason, so that we can all work together in our countries best interests, going forwards I would like my nation to reduce ties and reliance on the USA and grow closer to Europe again... And I will be voting for the party to push that at the next election here.

In my eyes Europe is much more of a spineless (incompetent) coward than USA. They basically accepted Russia to invade Ukraine. They should have sent their best day one. Not there third best equipment day one thousand, after everything from the 50/70 was donated.

That is an absolute load of utter garbage! (No offense!)

Europe has donated over 236 Billion USD where the USA has donated a paltry 153 Billion USD by comparison.

Even things like tanks... The USA donated 31x Abrams (Australia gave more with 49 Abrams) and 45x T-72B tanks... Where Poland which has donated over 318 Tanks... Which completely makes the USA look like a joke when Poland is only 1/10th population of the USA.

Europe has done orders-of-magnitude more to support the Ukraine than the United States, Trump is nothing but a spineless half wit in regards to the Russian war... Going even as far as making blatant lies that Ukraine started the war.

The United States has been a joke in regards to this war. They haven't set a positive example, they haven't defended democracy, they haven't tried to be proactive and put a stop to innocent men, women and children being murdered by Russia.

And Trump has utterly failed in stopping the war within 24 hours that he promised to do, multiple times.
How many times does that narcissistic pig need to lie before people like yourself stop supporting him?

The majority of Americans voted for him and Americans aren't suddenly going to think, we want to go back to Biden/Obama era. Nor should the world expect that and even if the USA goes back to those policies we now know that those are very temporarily.

I think the majority of Americans were blinded by the fake information, lies and garbage propoganda that was pushed by Trump.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_or_misleading_statements_by_Donald_Trump

People are now realizing that he hasn't reduced the cost of living, he hasn't put a stop to the endless wars, he didn't build a wall and get mexico to pay for it, he hasn't made the USA great again.

Also... The majority didn't vote for Trump.
72 Million Americans voted for Trump out of a potential 260~ million voting age Americans... Which also highlights the issue of your democratic system that doesn't make voting mandatory.

But the popular vote isn't what gets you elected in the USA anyway. - It's whoever has the most electors in support... Which is why Hillary lost the election against Trump, she had more people vote for her (Making her more popular than Trump), but it all comes down to the electoral college.

The general trust in the American Government is also stupidly low.

Trump does not support Ukraine. Biden did.

Who do you think will win in 2028?

Both Democrats and Republicans need reform. Tim Walz is the only one worthy of running as a man of the people imo. But not with the current mess the Democrats are in.

Now is the time for a 3rd party to rise up in the US, but are the people capable of it? There must be plenty states where people are completely fed up with both at this point. Kamela Harris again, really. Trump and Vance is a joke to run again.

The US needs a much younger president next, in their 40s at most. Vance qualifies but he's already deeply converted by MAGA.

Who knows, 2028, AI might win lol :/

I like Gavin Newsom in 2028, just not sure of his support for Ukraine.

I like Stubb. Trump respects him greatly,  He's a heck of a golfer !

As a Finn, I don't really like him, although I've got to say he seems to have done his job way better than I expected. His golf skills have definitely proven useful, and he seems to get along very well with other leaders. He also seems to have a significant part in dealing with the war. Of course time will be the ultimate judge of his legacy, but so far so good.

I still wish Europe, our leadership included, could grow some balls though. Sadly popular support for that is probably lacking in practice due to the costs that would incur.

Zelensky thanks EU for €90bn loan - but frozen Russian assets won't fund Ukraine's defence

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked European leaders following an agreement by the European Union to loan Ukraine €90bn (£79bn; $105bn).

"We committed, we delivered," EU chief Antonio Costa wrote on X as he announced the deal to provide a loan backed by the bloc's common budget.

Zelensky had urged EU leaders to use €200bn of frozen Russian assets to fund the Ukrainian war effort, but an agreement couldn’t be reached with Belgium, which holds the vast bulk of the Russian money.

Russia's Vladimir Putin had warned EU leaders not to use its money, and Belgium's Prime Minister Bart De Wever says "chaos and division" was avoided by loaning Ukraine the money instead of using frozen Russian assets.

The bloc's leaders say the agreement will meet Ukraine’s military and economic needs for the next two years - we'll have more on the warnings around the embattled country's depleted funds as we take in reaction to the deal.

We'll also bring you the latest on peace talks, as US and Russian officials are expected to meet in Miami this weekend, according to a report by the AFP news agency.
