At the Istanbul talks, Russia demanded Ukraine surrender non-occupied territories, abandon its sovereignty, alliances, arms industry, and Western weapons — Zelensky's top advisor Podolyak told Rzeczpospolita. He added the Russian delegation acted arrogantly, just like in 2022.

“All Russian threats during the Istanbul talks were rejected. Ukraine insists on a full and unconditional ceasefire to save lives and provide a solid foundation for diplomacy. We are ready for a 30-day ceasefire. Russian leadership needs to stop dragging out the war,” — Zelensky.

❗️“Peace talks on Ukraine are at a dead end — we realize that,” said Vance. “It seems Putin doesn’t quite know how to get out of this war,” he added.

Today’s Trump–Putin call could shape the course of the conflict more than any battlefield gain. Kyiv fears Trump may buy into a “peace deal” cooked up with Moscow — and try to force it on Ukraine.

The European Union is set to propose to the G7 a reduction of the current $60 per barrel price cap on Russian seaborne oil to $50. This move, part of the EU's 18th sanctions package, aims to further limit Russia's oil revenues. The proposal will be discussed among G7 finance ministers this week.

📞 BILD writes that Putin will insist on two conditions for a ceasefire during the conversation:

▪️AFU must leave Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions;

▪️During the ceasefire, Ukraine will not receive any military assistance from Western countries, and will also stop mobilization.

🤔 JD Vance: There's fundamental mistrust between Russia and the West. It's one of the things Trump thinks is frankly stupid, and we should be able to move beyond the mistakes that have been made in the past, but that takes two to tango.

🤡 LOL… Amid a conversation with Donald Trump, Putin signed a decree on conducting “state monitoring of damage caused to Russia by foreign states and organizations”

📞🤡 Putin: The conversation with Trump was frank and informative. It lasted more than 2 hours.

A ceasefire with Ukraine is possible if the relevant agreements are reached.

The memorandum between Russia and Ukraine may include issues of a ceasefire and principles of settlement.

Putin reappeared, claiming Russia supports halting hostilities—but only if the “most effective path to peace” is found. He says Moscow is ready for a ceasefire memorandum and wants “compromises” with Ukraine.

He talks of reviving talks like in Istanbul 2022, showing Russia’s demands haven’t changed

🤡 Trump's position is neutral, and he is really engaged in settlement issues, while the position of European politicians is openly pro-Ukrainian, - Peskov

I.E. Trump was manipulated again and for the 5th time failed to secure a ceasefire.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov: “Trump’s position is neutral and he’s genuinely engaged in settlement efforts, unlike European politicians whose stance is openly pro-Ukraine.”

In Ukraine, all the results of the negotiations between Trump and Putin are called "agreed to negotiate further."

Therefore, it seems that nothing is worth expecting. Our military is already preparing for the Russian summer campaign at the front.

Make. Russia. Great. Again.

Trump asked Zelensky before his conversation with Putin what he should discuss with him, according to WSJ. Zelensky said Trump should focus on the already proposed 30-day ceasefire and the possibility of a Russia-Ukraine summit with his involvement.

Nothingburger.

After a 2-hour chat, Trump claims Russia & Ukraine will begin negotiations for a ceasefire & end to the war. But no real details or breakthroughs, just promises of "massive trade" and "unlimited potential" post-war. He informed Zelensky & European leaders.

Lmfao. All those words to say "I achieved nothing once again" and Lmfao at Europe letting Trump's utter fucking stupidity delay things once again, to achieve nothing once again. "Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations towards a ceasefire" - You mean those same delay tactic negotiations already taking place? Negotiations towards a ceasefire? What happened to "Ceasefire now or face the consequences" once again, Trump is delaying the consequences because he is an absolute fucking bitch.

The next part of the statement reads like America got pushed out of negotiations entirely, Lol.

"The tone and spirit of the conversation were excellent. If it wasn't, I would say so now, rather than later" - Bwuahah. The fucking cope on this man. "IT WENT WELL, I SWEAR, PLEASE BELIEVE ME, I WOULD BE HONEST IF I THOUGHT I WAS BEING PLAYED."

Blah Blah Blah Trade.

All this to say that you didn't achieve a ceasefire once again.

Onto Russia's Summer Offensive while they pretend to negotiate in good faith.

Anything to avoid ever being tough on Russia.

Not so sure about Trump being terrified. He may very well be an accomplice in the game that Putin is playing, and I consider that possibility more likely due to the idiological similarities between the two.

Yeah. Maybe. There's really only 3 possibilities.

  1. He is a fucking coward. One of the biggest cowards in the world.
  2. He is a Russian agent and doing all this to throw a spanner in Europe's plans.
  3. He is a fucking egoistical idiot and Putin knows how to sweet talk him.

Stupid vs Coward vs Evil.

Doesn't really matter that much, same difference at the end of the day, Europe only has itself to blame for consistently allowing this shit to happen.

Ukraine has been offered the opportunity to submit a case against North Korea to the International Criminal Court for supporting Russia's war against Ukraine. The UK and EU struck a post-Brexit deal. Ursula von der Leyen says this boosts support for Kyiv.

"This will create new opportunities, of course, for our defence industries and open the option for stronger, more coordinated support also for Ukraine," she said.

Trump spoke quite emotionally about prospects for ties with Russia.
