Once again Russia rejects the ceasefire, once again there's no response from the West, once again the cowardly Western Europe and America allows Putin to play games and delay things, once again they allow him to buy for time, Putin refuses to come and negotiate with Zelenskyy directly. Once again, for the 50th time, does Russia completely ignore America and Europe's ultimatums and once again they do nothing in response. Look, it is to be expected of Trump, he is a coward, but Europe is just as much to blame too.

First he blatantly rejects Trump's ceasefire proposals multiple times, and Trump gets on his hands and knees and kisses his feet and defends him, then Europe comes in like "Accept this ceasefire or big bad things will happen to you!" and Russia says "No" then Europe says "Okay, we're sorry, lets wait and see how peace negotiations go" the same old delay tactic peace negotiations where Russia presents their maximalist demands which basically equate to Ukraine's complete surrender and then tries to paint Ukraine as the unreasonable one for not accepting.

This feels like Russia is trying to trap Ukraine into turning America against them again, they will demand Ukraine's complete surrender, dismantling of their military, a whole bunch of other shit and then when Ukraine refuses they will cry to Trump that Zelenskyy is being unreasonable, a situation we wouldn't fucking be in, if Europe actually backed up their stance of "CEASEFIRE ON THE 13TH OR ELSE. NO DEALS BEFORE CEASEFIRE!" and it feels like Zelenskyy is trying to make the best of the situation by demanding Putin shows up, he is pre-empting their bullshit and therefore making a demand that likely won't happen, Putin is very unlikely to show his face.

To be honest, I don't think Europe is even trying to get Russia to agree to a ceasefire. If it did, the language used wouldn't be so strong. Russia simply can't accept a ceasefire when pressured like this. If Europe wanted results, there wouldn't be such public pressure. This is probably a play to either get more sanctions or the favour of Trump by making Russia look bad.

Also, I don't think Ukraine has much to gain here. The so-called negotiations will probably end up being a nice show at best and something that makes Ukraine look bad to Trump at worst (everyone keeps trying to manipulate Trump somehow because that kind of seems to be the thing with him). Basically there's a bunch of flashy nothing going on, I think.

No I get that, I'm pretty sure everyone with a brain knew Russia would disagree with the ceasefire.

My issue is where is the response? Europe promised big bad consequences if Russia rejected the ceasefire, they did, nothing has happened, it's quite sad that they didn't already have a response prepared and instead now are "talking" about a response, what should have happened was immediate further sanctions and multiple countries delivering huge military packages but nothing.

We can see clearly that Russia is rejecting the ceasefire (AGAIN) but Europe is letting the narrative slip away, again, Trump is of course to blame because he immediately caved and said "Okay, Putin rejected the ceasefire, that's fine, Ukraine better show up to talks!" and Europe went along with it and said "Okay, Putin rejected the ceasefire, lets see how talks go later this week" Lol.

Once again Russia delays things and Europe's response gets delayed.

Ukraine has no choice but to entertain these (obviously going to be) bullshit peace negotiations because Europe can't back their own words up and Ukraine still desperately needs to placate America, but once these peace talks fail, America will once again blame Ukraine I bet. So I see Zelenskyy's demand that Putin shows up as a play to try to avoid that.
