It all started late one night on March 30 I was perusing the forums when I ran across some people site-testing. I joined in and they showed me something very interesting something most thought wasn’t possible; the ability to post in the future. That’s right we could travel time or at least post on a thread that had not been created. We have are fun then notified ioi and he removed all the post as well as the ability to time travel.
Then I see this new test thread but I look at it and realize this test is no time traveler it is something different. So I PM that user and they PM me back about the forum numbers. I check it out and notice there is no section 8. So I do a test thread http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=22067. (At this time Off-topic had been removed from the front page.) And to my surprise it shows up in hot-topics. Then even more surprising no one notices that it has no forum location.
Now at this point in time it seems interesting but pointless as any threads on any of the forums will show up on the front page. Though one could make there own little filing cabinet of all the threads they start. So time goes by and I forget about all about it.
By now ioi has put the filters up and Off-topic is back on the front page. I receive a PM about something it seems someone has tried to bump one of the other sections threads and it is not coming up on the front page. The PM is labeled Secret Forums we joke about it and that is that.
I start trying to do some research on something when I realize I could use some help. I go to make a thread and decide against it because I don’t want it to turn into a flame war. And I don’t want to get a ton of crap later when I post my article for getting help here. So I think man it sure would be nice to have an area where only more mature people are or just an area to research and help research gaming articles.
So I continue to do work and decide to look into making the secret forums more then just a glitch-niche. I create the second thread in that section http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?start=0&id=24327 and start PMing people that are online that I know. At this point there are no rules I just keep it to people who are fun, people I don’t think will cause a problem, and people who are online. After about 3 people I decide to invite some mods as I do not wish to have a problem with people going to far or have the section just be an exploit that’s behind administrations back.
Initially I make it so once your invited you can invite others yourself. But everyone finds that a bad idea as the pyramid effect would have everyone on the site there in hours. So I create a new thread and make the invite rules have only PDF and me as the people who can invite. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=24330. PDF and I had done some testing in the past with making polls, chat boxes and such. And since he suggested it he got to help.
So a few people are there now and they want to know what do we talk about? A lot of ideas are thrown around included my “IDK vent about things like if we have a problem with other users” comment which I would later be persecuted for. So I go and post the question I had been wanting to ask an example http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=24338&start=0 and I get hardly any response. Most people seem to want the threads to be more adult oriented or just crazy fun. After only a few hours a thread appears on the mods forum about the section. And some more mods come most of which had been PM’d or where going to be.
About one day has past and there are about 4 threads created about concern of what happens when ioi finds out. And the rest are kinda random from “why you should use linux” to “Do you watch porn.”
Despite me making it very clear of the result of posting on other section many go and make threads on various forum numbers anyways. The gears continue to turn and I barely keep up with member request and finding the other numbers people have posted in and issuing warning to those people to stop.
It’s been a few days and between some PM’s and other things it has become fairly obvious ioi knows, though I pretty much assumed he knew right after I invited the first mod. So I PM him about it and ask that he speak his thoughts and maybe help. Next Naznatips makes a thread issuing more warnings about posting in other section besides 8 and locks all the ones he can find.
This is the beginning of the end and with in a few hours the glitch is fixed and all the section 8 threads are thrown onto Off-topics. In all we had 30 threads created, and just over 4,000 impression in less than 3 days, with a small list of members.

Why did I write that? For those who wanted to know what happened, what I was thinking, and how much of a scum bag I am.
