Forums - General - AT&T Sets Plan to Spin Off WarnerMedia in $43 Billion Deal

Sold my AT&T shares awhile ago. I have zero faith or interest in the future growth in that company.

I wonder if HBO Max and Discovery+ will be merged or be part of a bundle like Disney + is.

Whaaaat - you actually had AT&T shares? lol

Before the spinoff it paid a fantastic 8% dividend.  It was never going to grow much, but for a small part of your portfolio for guaranteed income or for older investors that wanted dividend returns it was a pretty solid stock.  A younger investor looking for high growth shouldn't have been looking at it.

At the time I was going to focus on AT&T for the dividend as I had a whole portfolio designated for dividends. Basically nuked that entire portfolio though.

I just hope this has no negative effects on AEW. I know Warner doesn't own them but they own the networks they're on. New owners may not like them being a TV14 show. Do what AOL did and hated wrestling so wanted them off TV but before that forced WCW to be more family-friendly in the MNW. ugh.
