Forums - Gaming - The Demaster Thread

Demaking is when you take a game and simplify it to what a game would have looked like decades ago.

Example: Dragon Quest 11 had a NES/SNES-like mode.

What games have you played that you really like, but you think would translate well to a old school formula and graphics if a team were to Demake it?

For me, Xenoblade Chronicles, Guild Wars 1, and Kid Icarus Uprising would all be amazing if they were built to be like the original Dragon Quest games.

What games can you think of and how would you want them demade?

Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters imo are way better than the 3D remakes on DS especially for Final Fantasy IV.

Sure, I guess a demaster of a remaster can count, though I'm more looking for fully 3d, modern games that you think would be cool in a pixel remastered kind of way.

A 2D demake of Super Mario Odyssey could be interesting.

I guess in a way this is similar to what happened with a lot of games when they had separate versions for different systems. One game for Consoles and a completely different game for handhelds like gba/ds.
