Forums - Gaming Discussion - Monster Hunter World surpasses 20m units shipped.

Monster Hunter World has shipped 20m units across all platforms. The title has shipped twice as much as any other capcom title (Resident Evil 7 being in 2nd with 10m shipped).

Crazy numbers, last we heard was 17.3m as of June 30th 2021, meaning MHW has shipped another 2.7m units in the past 3 months. (It seems the 17.3m figures didn't include Iceborne Master Edition, the version that includes the base game while this figure does.)

Monster Hunter: World Tops 20 Million Units Shipped Globally! | CAPCOM

Monster Hunter Rise should take the 2nd place spot from RE7 next year when the PC version launches (7.5m on Switch so far), crazy how Monster Hunter has turned from 4m being a strong entry into this juggernaut.

The best selling MH games before World/Rise was Monster Hunter Freedom 3 with 4.9m sold.

Also if anyone is curious about how the sales breakdown between platforms this sales data was leaked in the big Capcom hack of 2020.

(Sales as of ? leaked nov 2020)
Total - 16.64m
PS4 - 8.90m
PC - 5.95m
Xbox - 1.79m

It didn't ship 2.7 million in the last quarter when even Rise did only 200k. The old numbers just didn't include the Master Edition.

Yeah you're right, very strange how they didn't include that figure before. After all it's basically just Monster Hunter World GOTY edition.

So in June it was 17.3m Base Game, 8.2m Iceborne.

So we're probably looking at like 17.3-17.4m for base game, 2.6-2.7m for Iceborne master edition and over 5.6m for Iceborne DLC.
