Forums - Microsoft Discussion - This man says Conker bad fur day 2 can be made even with PC culture

Look I like the OG game but in all honesty. Take away the novelty why people remembered it at the time. M rated mascot on N64 and pop culture references. You had an average game. That novelty has long since worn off and on Xbox would not be the same. I know it has some loyal fans but I doubt there is enough of them to warrant a sequel.

I think its noting Conker was never actually a success.

However, I'm confused why MS doesn't just make a modest budget platformers like Yooka Laylee using their classic IPs. But throw money at projects like Lucky's Tale and Recore.

Understood, but I have the impression MS bankrolled it. Which isn't an uncommon thing for MS to do for exclusivity reasons.

Nah it was an Oculus game then ported to Xbox and later other systems. Why MS decided to promote is beyond me other than they love throwing a bunch of forgettable games in their shows so they can claim they have 60 games to show or whatever.

There's not much in Conker's Bad Fur Day that people would care all that much about. Mainly just stupid gross out humor and obvious sexual puns. Problem is that Conker's Bad Fur Day came out at a time where a drunk cartoon squirrel was still novel. After 20ish years of SouthPark, Bojack Horseman, Rick and Morty, etc etc., I don't think that kind of thing is gonna sell enough. And 3D platformers aren't the bees knees anymore either. Banjo would make far more sense as it appeals to a broader audience.

The Oculus release was a different game. Given MS actually published Super Lucky's Tale and got exclusivity, I just have to assume the bankrolled it.

For me there is no doubt that MS put money on this game, now if it was small or large we can`t know for sure. Maybe it is something similar to Sony with Shenmue 3, got exlusivity by just giving them advertisment on their show.

Rare should pull the ultimate troll, by making a new Conker game, but it's a sequel to Conker's Pocket Tales, where he's a cuddly little squirrel looking for birthday presents.

What they need to do is make the game offending every single LGBTQ, politician and everyone on tic-tik.
