Forums - Nintendo - LEGO Super Mario 64 Tribute Set Revealed

My first video game and probably still in my top 10 greatest games ever made. I feel that the Lego set would have been cooler if it was released 20 years ago but I am sure that there will be niche market of retro gaming fans and Lego fans that will gobble this up.

Pretty cool.

That looks amazing! If it wasn't 170€ I'd preorder it immediately.

I'm still surprised they haven't done an actual videogame collaboration. A Super Mario Lego crossover would probably be the answer for those who want a "Super Mario Maker 3D".

You know it deserves the GOTY.

That looks pretty cool, made me want to play this game again.

This is a good idea, I’d buy this if it were good.

I know! Maybe for the Holiday season some places will have price cuts.

This will not get a price cut so soon as this set isn't even out on sale yet; and how widely available this set is is still unknown. If only Lego stores or their website is selling it, it'll more than likely NEVER get a discount, which are typically minimal at best in there. If it is available outside of Lego's stores and website, I wouldn't expect more than a 20% discount and you'll have to consider if it's worth it waiting however long it'll be for any discount to take place.

For example, the NES set has been out for just over a year now, 13 months since its August 2020 release, and the best discount I've seen for it is 14% off back in mid July this year, £30 off the standard £210, which isn't much compared to other sets in Lego's portfolio that take significantly sharper discounts in a shorter time.

I like this set, but it's really relatively small, if admittedly dense, compared to many MANY other sets which are a lot bigger, while costing the same or a lot less, even if they're not Nintendo themed.

Hopefully. Would make for a great christmas present.

Although considering I could only find this on Lego's own website I don't see it going on sale any time soon.
