I was googling Atari VCS to see if they announced how many they shipped to the general public (after hey shipped to backers) and i saw a few listing on ebay at inflated prices. I hit shopping and is available at best buy, game stop and even directly from the Atari site with free shipping. So will anybody buy it at 599 plus shipping or even at 520 plus shipping? 

Unlikely - it isn't Atari, just a company who bought the rights to use the Atari logo.

I think that the only way the thing would become successful is if Valve bought the box design for a retro style Steam Deck or similar. Otherwise it's just a collector's curiosity. You are buying it to say that you have one...

From what I understand stores just don't want to carry it as they were not moving. Like Best Buy, you can order one and they ship it to a local store and you can pick it up. Seems places are just selling whatever stock they have. Unlikely of the second run of these. What I thought would happen, happened. Outside of the few people buying on the nostalgia factor, this thing is DOA.

But it is availabe at gamestop and best buy at MSRP with free shipping that is why it doesn't make sense to me.
