I wouldn't say I'm the best gamer. I'm 39 years old, have less time for gaming than ever before and mostly okay on easy or normal just to live the experience.

That being said I love Nioh, Souls games, Hotline Miami and Fury. Basically, I enjoy my "git his" games and am not bad at them.

So I've gone out and bought Returnal, played it, loved it. I love the gameplay, I love the sound design and use of the DualSense, but dammit I can't get past the first boss.

I see the pattern, I know the pattern, I know what to do and how to react, but it just feels like me hands can't do what my brain tell them quick enough.

Anyone else struggling with this game and if there is, shall we set up a shareplay thread here so those who are good can help or beat the game for those who are struggling? Or is it just me struggling being an old man now lol ?

Do the hands come attached to a body that's able lol just deleted and downloaded it again. If I can beat the first boss today, I'll keep the game. If not I will hang my head in shame and move on.

Is this worth getting? Is it really that difficult...I cant quite get the feel for the game through trailers or even gameplay vids. I'm hesitant to drop so much money on it despite knowing housemarque always delivers.

It's not difficult for me, once you get going you can become quite OP.

Then again, i am a sucker for souls games, so maybe i have been conditioned!

It's a learning curve. I'm certain you will get the hang of it after a few more runs. As you progress you unlock new weapons, and wepaons' traits that will make everything easier.

I died a few times to the first,and second bosses only. other than that it was a smooth sailing. I wish if there was a hard mode :p

Not at that price imho. I enjoyed the game a lot. Addictive gameplay. Mysterious, interesting storyline. But the 70$ price tag is simply too much for the value of the package. It should come down in price fairly quickly.
