lol, your so funny. isn't hand picking numbers for your own cause so fun?

The PS3 is outselling the 360 by 37% (and growing). The percent is the important number, not the units. Do you really expect these things to only sell at these numbers for three years solid?

So I will even be conservative, and say this trend stops at 40%. That means if M sells 19.5 million consoles, Sony passes it. To don't think MS will sell 19.5 million consoles before the next generation comes out?

If that's the case, they both have failed.

And it's beyond me how you see the bias in my statement and not yours. They are exactly the same. I guess seeing fanboys is like seeing dead people... they don't even know they are fanboys.

Actually, if the Xbox 360 sells another 20 million consoles, Microsoft will probably profit off the console overall.  At the end of the day, my statement was factually accurate, whereas yours was a dramatized falsehood that you tried to relate to mine to make my statement look fanboyish.

Much of the belief that Sony would dominate Microsoft over the coming year was spawned from two things:

-  The now irrelevant fact that Sony would whip Microsoft in Japan.  It is irrelevant because Sony's sales there are nearly as marginalized as Microsofts.

-The supposed strength of Sony's 2008 line-up.  This has been debunked due to key titles not making it as early as previously thought, and a strengthening of Microsoft's own line-up.

I hope your not refering to the debts made by both the original XBOX + XBOX 360 combined , because we both now that wouldn't happen.

Both consoles will probably sell 20-40% of the years total hardware sales in the christmas period , it would be better that Sony price cutted, had big releases in Q3,Q4 to gain momemntum towards the end of the year.

Sony have got have some unannounced 2008 games, they're sitting atop almost 3000 developers who I doubt are just sat twiddling their thumbs

I don't see there being that many unannounced games we don't know about for Sony. By that I mean, we know that ICO have something going on. With Microsoft, we KNOW that Rare, Lionhead and Bungie all have an unannounced game each. But Microsoft has a habit of surprising us with third party exclusives (Gears, Alan Wake, Too Human, Infinite Undiscovery) whereas whenever we seem to find out about Sony exclusives it's from their (still rather formidable) first party arrangement.

...years in advance.  How long ago were AW, TH, and ID announced?  Gears 2 was the only real "surprise", but any idiot knew it was coming.

Siren: New Translation, however, was a surprise.  Valkyria Chronicles announced last September with a release date of this month for Japan was a surprise as well.

Not to say that MS doesn't have it's own share of surprises, but those were really bad examples.

And that "rather formidable" first party publishes more console titles than Nintendo on average year for year (though handhelds are a different matter).  As such, don't be surprised to see more games announced for '08 throughout the year, like Siren.  Not to say that it will happen, of course.

So you think terms like "slightly", and "a long way" are facts, yet "devastating" and "quickly gaining" are dramatizations?

Here are the facts:

LTD sales for the 360 are 54% higher.

YTD sales for the PS3 are 37% higher.

Those are facts. Qualifying what they mean is bias. If one is slowly selling more, or quickly selling more is just your opinion.

If one is a long way in front or a short way in front is your opinion. These things might sell 100+ million unit's. If that's the case, a lead of 7 million this early is not a long lead. If you were going to ask what console will have the most LTD sales by the end of the year, 7 million is a long lead. It's relative, and all opinion based.

You ever ask Starcraft, why on a site with so many pro 360 and pro PS3 fans, your the one that's always in these arguments? i could understand if it was just me calling you a fanboy, but it's everyone. And not only that, I don't call many people fanboys. Just you and Madskillz.

You ever wounder, aside from thinking I am delusional, why that is?

WKC release date
Star Ocean 4 as a PS3 exclusive
R&C:F sequel

that's what my guesses are, anyone else?

I said profit off the console, so yes I only meant the Xbox 360.  Also, you realize that Yakuza and DMC4 are already out and did nothing to regularly raise PS3 sales right?

Your right they were bad examples.  In fact, depending on how broad we go, the fact that Microsoft have said they still have more exclusives up their sleeve could debunk the idea that they are "unknown exclusives" lol.

are u sure its 3000 DEVELOPERS... thats a lot of developers... and the amount of games coming out are pretty small in relation to these number... i mean atleast 10 full sized games should be coming out per yr...

I see this thread went quite off topic.

Here are a list of some PS3 games still considered under production:

Airtight PS3 Project
Big Time Revenge
Brave Arms
Chain Limit
DC Universe MMO
Dreamers
Metro 2033: The Last Refuge
Project Psychic
Rengoku The End of the Century
Returning Alive
Rockstar Old West PS3 Project
Zipper Interactive PS3 Project*

I'd be interested in hearing news on any of the above titles.

*The Zipper Interactive project is more than likely the next Socom game.

There is also Incognito Entertainments new game, Eat Sleep Play's new game, and the team ICO projects.

Sony also surprised the media last E3 with LittleBigPlanet so it's quite possible another exclusive in development by a third party could be announced.

I'd also like some info on the titles set to hit in 08': Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2 etc.

Also some info on InFamous, Heavy Rain and Wardevil would be nice.

I do realise that I was talking about Software , Sony has vastly outsold MS in terms of software despite the strong line up of JRPG's the XBOX 360 has . I was using past releases and future releases in japan to demonstrate titles which apeal to the japanese gamer and have and will sell.
