Its only 130 bucks and people can play great games.

I know some people wo buy it just for Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

I'm picking a slim up next month after my tax money comes. My big boy PS2 has been disc read erroring for the longest time and I'm simply tired of the hassle of opening that sucker up and messing with the wheel to correct it. I've been getting into Fire Pro Wrestling Returns and want Arcana Hearts and the re-released SMT: Nocturne, oohhhhh...and Persona 3 FES! Damn, that PS2 is getting some nice games still. Maybe that's why it still sells. Phone me when PS3 gets something as nichely awesome as Arcana Hearts, Fire Pro Returns or Persona 3 FES.

I wanna import Namco x Capcom too. Has anyone played it so I can know how text heavy the game is and whether the menus can be changed to English?

People still buy it cause its cheap and it has a great game library.

This is exactly what I came in to say, point for point. Every PS2 sold is a victory and money for Sony. People buying 130 dollar PS2s are not the same people ooking to buy a 400 dollar PS3.

The 139 games on the PS3 disagree with you (not including Japan only games). 88 of which are not available on PS2.

what would sony like more, more people buying the ps3 or more people buying the ps2? good or not the ps2 is eating into the ps3 chances this generation. With all the obsticles( third party support, price and BC support), Sony needs to let go of the ps2 so the ps3 can shine.

 but doing that would casue even more losses in the gaming division. they want to milk the PS2 as long as they can

The buyers of PS2 are NO WHERE near potential PS3 buyers now.

Them having the ability to buy a PS2 now means they are a very strong possible buyer of the PS3 in the future.

WTF is so hard to understand ? They aren't buy a wii or 360, but they are entering the PS family so why the hell wouls Sony stop this ?

Theres nearly a $300 difference between PS2 and PS3 any one with any brains can figure out they are not going after the same customer.
