This sounds more and more like a game I'm excited to play on PS5. not Ps4 and my PC won't be able to handle it, but PS5? yeah, by then they'll have ironed out the kinks.

Personally, I tend to give games like this (open world RPGs with so many mechanics and subtle details) a lot of leeway on the glitches and performance issues. I did with Skyrim, I did with Red Dead, I did with Fallout 4, and I have with most every open world action RPG I've ever played, because the game underneath that garnish of crap is actually really damn good. Skyrim is one of my favourites, as is Red Dead Redemption 2. Fallout is up there as well. So yeah, while these games are glitchy, that kinda comes with the territory, and it makes sense that a HUGE studio like Rockstar or Bethesda can do (theoretically) better testing than a relatively small crew like CD Projekt Red. yeah, it sucks that Cyberpunk is broken and nigh unplayable, but the hatred being spewed has taken it WAY too far.

They're a huge company and yet I feel bad for them. They do not deserve this hate.

What hate exactly? I think they got more death threats for the delays than hate now :/

They're rightfully getting called out on lies and hiding the base console versions. But I don't frequent twitter, maybe there's a lot of hate there. On Steam I see the opposite, the usual 'hate' on anyone that dares to criticize the game.

Guys, the game devs at CD Projekt has been working on this game 24/7 for the last 2 years, lets give them some slack.

The patches will come and mostly fix all issues, maybe not for PS4 and xbox one but for the rest, even PS4 pro and Xbox one X. This game just have huge sales potential I think, the next-gen patches will arrive and people will get better hardware for their PC. This could basically be like GTA5 where the game just keep selling for all eternity.

Literally every single copy sold on PS4 and Xbox One was sold because they didn't release any gameplay footage on older consoles.  If they did, sales would have been pretty much non-existent on those consoles and it would have also dragged in some others from other platforms.  In short - they deliberately mislead their customers.  You can't give people who knowingly deceive their customers slack.

I don't dispute amount of hard work that went into it, the potential of the developers or the sales of this game.  What they needed was some leadership at the top to say - actually its not ready, lets either pull it from last gen completely or fix it then release it".  Sadly did neither and instead, took the option of get it reviewed on latest gen/pc and hid the old gen letting down consumers.  Latest Metacritic scores for PS4/XBOX1 show the game for what it currently is - a 50's ish / 100 score.

Crazy how the Sony and MS bigwigs allow them to be released.

That's a good point. The game should have been pushed back until later this month for a few updates to hit. Should have just released Series X|S, PS5 and PC versions.

I'm maybe 8 hours in and it is amazing. I'm also playing it on hardware that allows it to be so. This game was announced when the X1 and PS4 were new on the market. The owners of the last gen hardware deserve better IMO.

There is no PS5 and Series versions, they are playing BC of the PS4 and X1 version.

There are PS5/XBSX specific adjustments like a 60 FPS mode option. Are things like draw distance etc improved as well?

Only the Series X has some enhancements, PS5 simply plays the PS4 version in BC mode.

It's in the DF video. One X is par for par with Ps4 Pro, Series S and Series X have more detail and higher resolution, while PS5 has the same max resolution as PS4 Pro but sticks to it at 60 fps (while the pro drops into the 20s and scales down resolution) Series X also got a quality mode, even higher resolution (up to 1800p or so) at 30 fps.

Bugs and glitches are the same though, DF had one full minute freeze while testing the Series version. In an hour+ of testing they had 6 long pauses and 2 crashes back to the system menu.

Series versions are not optimized for next gen, but they do have a couple detail sliders turned up and higher target resolution. PS5 simply runs with the same parameters and hits the ceiling at those. (Has more stable 60 fps than Series X but lower res and smaller crowds)

For best performance: PS5
For best res/detail: Series X

Both not close to PC version, wait for next gen version.

Lol I see it now, there are some gems in the comment section on Eurogamer. On Steam it was mostly hate on console kiddies and people with bad PCs tarnishing the best game ever by leaving bad reviews. That tone has shifted now as well after CDPR dug their hole deeper :/
