Upgrading your hard drive does not void your warranty, they purposely designed it that way.

Trust me , it doesn't void the warranty , it's the very reason Sony didn't take the same routue as MS. Research it , then come back and appologise.

 

OT: 1-11 is only possible with the incredible power of the cell , incredible i say.

No, there's a little slot for the HDD in the PS3. You don't have to open the whole thing up to replace it. And it is Sony endorsed. I think that Doh is in order for you.

As others have pointed out, it does not void the warranty.
And the PS3 can also act as a media center.
It is capable of streaming movies, images and music, etc wirelessly.
Plus you can watch the movie's quiet scenes without all the extra noise. "Oh yes" =P

If you broke anything , wouldn't your warranty be voided?

It's in a different compartment.
The procedure's steps are actually in the manual.
I haven't done it myself, but it seemed pretty easy.

Yes. Sony purposedly made it very easy to upgrade your hard drive.
