Forums - PC Discussion - Looking for a new mini ITX build with small ~10l case

Nothing is available! Scalpers and miners are raiding supply lines.

I just bought a used Ryzen 3600X to bridge the gap for the upcoming Ryzen 5800. Still a giant leap from my older FX processor, RIP soldier.

Waiting for that GTX 3060, might have to buy a 2070S instead if nothing hits retail.

Someting wong here. The cooler doesn't seem to fit to the board. Both the cooler brackets and the original AMD backplate have these integrated risers and the cooler is floating above the CPU. The included short screws barely go through the backplate.

So I have flipped the brackets on the cooler and used the included 4 long screws through the backplate (the manual doesn't even mention these long screws). Is  this how it's supposed to be?

I believe I have to quit the Fractal Node 202 because my new 30 series gpu keeps freezing on it. My older 10 series gpu worked fine for the few days that I had tested it. Might be related to the faster pcie 4.0 speed that is incompatible with riser cards/cables. The 30 card works fine when plugged into the board directly. This might be the end of all riser based cases in the long run and the reason why large companies stopped producing them.

Some video on that topic.

Right now everything is installed in my older ATX tower but I might be looking for one of these larger mitx cases without riser cables.

Should of got a Ghost S1. Maybe the new SG15.

That's 300 buckazoids and I am not certain if their riser cable is truly compatible with pcie 40.

Pretty sure the 3060 will be RTX. There's supposedly also a 3050, 3050 Ti, 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti coming soon.

Got a 3060ti now for over $500 but that is still fair considering that it rivals the 2080 (super) and has some advanced features. The promised $400 were fake prices to counter the cheap next gen consoles.

I didn't even notice that GTX was changed to RTX. Nvidia should tell their marketing department to push influencers to emphasize that feature more.

My final recommendation for a sff pc is the Silverstone SG13 at 11.5l. Probably the smallest case that allows for direct gpu to board connection so you can avoid the headache of riser cables.
