I would personally like a 'Fallout2 - Enhanched & expanded edition' - isometric view but done in 3D or 3D combined with 2D, minor gameplay changes (preferably correction of the small annoyances in F1&2 + adding some new gameplay elements), change of setting (new cities, i think that moving Fallout to Washington was one of the better Bethsheda's ideas), and most definatelly a killer new story with lots of new and intruiging characters, lots of (clever)dialouge options and lots of possible ways to play trough the game which would guarantee replayability and different endings.
But i would also take 'Fallout 2 - Rehashed edition' over current Fallout 3 any day.

None of us have said anything about keeping the game isometric or anything along those lines. We want Bethesda to keep the spirit of Fallout alive and they're not doing it. They're basically giving us future Oblivion with guns. That's not Fallout.

Well for the people making suggestions, do you think either Sony or Microsoft would allow the game on their systems with some of those suggestions?

Well, i don't want Fallout for consoles because they lack one of the moreimportant parts for playing my vision of F3 properly - a mouse (sold separately). With Wii remote it's possible, but still i think PC would be the way to go.

.
I think the best question to ask is what Bethesda would have to give us Fallout fans for Fallout 3 to be a success.

It's your sort of ignorant comments that the original post suggested against. I like how you create this twisted interpretation of other people's wants.
Hell, the previously developed version of Fallout 3 within Interplay by Black Isle Studios was 3D and there were no complaints whatsoever. As for setting changes, I'm sorry, but I didn't know you liked when series completely abandoned their mythos. Why SHOULD there be a setting change? Hey! Half life 3 would be so much better if it took place in world war 2! Rock onssss! Does that make sense? NO, so why should Fallout 3 abandon the history and mythos of the previous fallout games?
Gameplay changes would be welcomed, but not an abandoning of the concepts of fallout 3. Silent Storm really improved upon the turn based strategy system, the gameplay tweaks in that would be great to introduce. Making a first person realtime game seems to abandon a lot of the slower pace and deliberation of the series. Hey, Civilization 5 should be like red alert: Renegade! It would make the games so much more next gen and uber awesome dude!
Here's a quote from Miyamoto that I think is fitting for this thread...
"Too many game creators listen to requests from existing gamers who simply want beefed-up versions of existing games."

I don't care that much how the game plays... What I care about is how Bethesda is throwing out the core of what made Fallout great and that's conesquence and freedom.
It's more akin to Sonic Team taking over the Mario franchise, giving him a wise-cracking attitude, and equipping him with a gun. It might be called Mario and the characters may look the same but the spirit of the franchise is gone.

Whoa, serious Deja Vu right now.
Metroid fans in 2001: "Oh noez they killed Metroid! They took away everything that made the franchise great and turned it into a generic run and gun shooter! Fuck you Retro!"
Metroid fans in 2002: "ZOMG best game EVAR!!!!!"
...
How about you all just give Bethesda a chance before condemning them to hell?
