Forums - Gaming - Batman in new Mortal kombat game - but no blood

When did blood become a prime factor to purchase a video game?
Unbelievable and outrageous to even read these thoughts!!!

Umm...yeah. Its like mario without mushrooms. Or sonic without rings...MK without blood is not MK.

Younger gamers must have the hardest time believing that Mortal Kombat was ever a huge and much loved franchise...

I had a hard time believing it when it was happening! It really did seem mostly a game based on blood, fatalities and showing off that you knew the fatalities.]

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ The Mario mushrooms and the Sonic rings are achievement mechanics relying to the actual gameplay. Blood is not a gameplay feature. Your justification doesn't sound right.

Mortal Kombat Vs DC universe doesn't sound as cool as Marvel Vs Capcom.

And no blood or fatalities gives this game an instant "Meh" rating.

Around 1992? Mortal Kombat has ALWAYS been about the blood. Mortal Kombat games were sufficiently worse then almost any Capcom and SNK fighter except for the blood and the fatalties.

Wonder if they'll stick with the street levelers or if they'll go all stupid like Streetfighter vs Capcom and have Subzero fighting superman.

No fatalities = no sales. That's the point to a MK game. Dumb asses if true.

Mushrooms is a signicant part of the mario concept in the same way that Rings are a signicant part of the Sonic concept, without the components that make up various concepts you have nothing to identify with the game , no reason for being interested or remembering the game, to put it simply utter bullSh*t.

Sure it does...obviously you've never played mortal kombat.

Pick Johny Cage in mk2...win the match and push forward, forward, down, up, down + low punch +low kick + block...He knocks off not one...but 3 heads off the opponent...with blood gushing everywhere. Fatalities are a gameplay mechanic. This why mortal kombat was awesome. No fatalities = no mortal kombat. no virus infection = no resident evil. no rings = no sonic...catch my drift.

I wonder what could happened if the first MK, did not have Blood or Fatalities...
Probably Ed Boom became a Macdonald's employee..

Who remembers those horribles DC fighters form the SNES/SEGA era?
Those where bad games...
