Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Hardware April 26 to May 9

Sales of the PS4 seem to be slightly lower than at the same time last year.
There is no sudden drop even in May.

Bit confused on Japanese numbers weren't they 157,463 for Switch and 32,478 for PS4 going by the Famitsu thread?

The Famitsu figures were for two weeks. The region breakdown chart in the OP is for one week (May 9) only.

Okay.

Great to see Switch at 200k+!

Sales for the 2 week period for the PS4 are only down around 8% year-over-year. Year to date PS4 sales are down around 22%.

Yes, but it was down more until March. I'm relieved that it doesn't fall much even if it enters May.

Looks about right with last week being a little higher. Either the sales boom has mostly worn off or hardware is in the right amount of short enough supply that we can't tell the difference. Most likely the sales boom has worn off.

Only one week was posted on the main page print (switch 266.6k, ps4 182.1k, xone 46.6k and 3ds 5.8k) and here and informed two weeks ago, the last week was April 25, you do not do the sum of the two weeks total on the main page also?

The front page updates automatically and I have no control over it. It is set up to just display the most recent week's figures. We do have plans to create a separate hardware page where people can easily view weekly hardware figures.

But is the data for the total hardware sum of the generation added to the two weeks or just the week in question? Another doubt, wouldn't it be correct to have updated the current week with the values of the two weeks added together since there is no way to post the two charts in the week of May 9th, after all technically it jumped from April 25th to the 9th? Thank you.

Still no source on them Xbox one sales, eh? Microsoft doesn't post the sales, and NPD refuses to provide a source for their numbers... And you guys just say that you got your numbers from NPD. There is no source anywhere for Xbox. Very interesting.
