It has nothing to do with how MS handled it back then, its how they are handling it now.

It's full BC from the get go (regarding last gen).

Correct. It will launch with 100 but promise to have the majority of the 4000 as the generation goes along. Did I read that right?

No, it was never said it will launch with 100, they used 100 games to measure how many where working right or not and confirmed with it that almost all PS4 games work flawlessly.

It'll launch with full BC.

And with boost for fps and resolution, so similar to what Xbox is doing at least for last gen. No info about the other ones.
