Nice to see the 360 surpassing its predecessor. The million sellers should keep rolling in for a long time

I actually started a thread last year asking when people thought the 360 would trump the Xbox in million sellers, and I specifically remember Stickball saying late spring. Go Stick!

For those that are interested, the PS3 has 12 million sellers, and the Wii has 25.  

The PS2 had 196 million sellers, making it unlikely the PS3 will ever reach it's predeccessor.

The Gamecube had 38 million sellers, making it all but certain the Wii will surpass it's predeccessor. 


1. The PS2 actually has more, just the data isn't all correct for last gen. One example is Killzone 1.

2. The PS3 probably won't pass the PS2, but I bet it will reach 100 million sellers

3. Pfff...Gamecube. Nintendo's second worst failure (after the virtual boy, or whatever its called)


Uh, what about Gameboy Micro? And congrats to Microsoft, having the 360 surpass the original Xbox.

Whats really amazing is that the 360 has a smaller userbase and more million sellers (well it will by next week thanks to rainbow 6 vegas 2). So the 360 audience buys more games then the original xbox crowd. Not only that but many games outside of the halo series have now sold over 3 million copies. On the original xbox only halo ever sold more then 3 million. This is why the 360 will still be supported by developers. It sells a lot of games.
