BOLD STATEMENT

I'm putting my account on the line for this: DQ 12 WILL skip Xbox.

Agreed. They skipped Xbox on DQ Infinity Strash: Adventures of Dai, their DQ action RPG, even after Xbox paid not only for DQ11 on Gamepass, but also paid to extend it in Gamepass by an additional 12 months. Square Enix is just a lost cause for Xbox at this point, those bastards are never going to support Xbox no matter how many on Xbox buy their games. If Xbox isn't paying them for each and every port, they just don't bother, and Xbox can't pay them for everything.

If it makes you feel any better, their financials have proven that they are not the best decision makers

Anyone else think that Marcus Fenix in Gears 1 Ultimate looks like Phil Spencer? Resemblance is uncanny imo.

you were kinda trippin balls with this one

I guess this was the one area that 343 hasn't covered yet regarding the Winter Update. But, it's only 30 tiers lol

My guess is that DQ12 comes to xbox, but it will come to xbox years after launch and only becuase MS paid to port it.

"The Coalition really lead a lot of our work with Unreal Engine, they lead the charge"

"We have UI Summits, Narrative Summits, Network Summits, Security Summits, Animation Summits, etc." "They're attended by 3-4 people per studio, and they do about 15-20 per year, they last a couple of days."

"Undead Labs are a relatively modest sized studio but there is a desire, they want that game to compete visually, one of the things that the team is really focused on is animation, being able to really up for State of Decay 3 the interactivity between the player and environment and some of the things that The Coalition are working on for their next project directly applies to that so there has been a lot of great sharing"

Little bit of paraphrasing.

Halo Infinite

"We've retrenched, we've got some changes in how the team is setup, some changes in the leadership"

Perfect Dark

"In my mind it hasn't been so much leadership changes as it has been building a studio, one of the most difficult things in the last few years has been building a big game during the conditions that we've had, number 2 is trying to start up a new studio, you don't have shared history, people who have worked together, we were doing a lot of experimenting with remote and hybrid, some worked, some didn't, it's less leadership changes and more the work of building a studio"

"We have a full team in The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics, it's what I call co-development, it's not outsourcing, they're an equal partner"

"I think as we chart a path forward for what post pandemic post hybrid work game production starts to look like, that's going to be more of the norm"

"Successful projects we've had, Flight Sim in tight partnership with Asobo but we also have a full team in Redmond, Minecraft Dungeons and the upcoming Minecraft Legends made in partnership with BBL, a partnership between a Redmond studio and a studio in Stockholm, Age of Empires IV built in partnership with Relic, but we have a full team in Redmond"

"It's not a case of Crystal Dynamics taking over or replacing, it's more that they had 100-something people become available who have a great pedigree of working on Tomb Raider, people that we know who we worked with, they're available, they're excited about working on Perfect Dark, they not going to sign up to work on something they're not excited about"

"To me it's more about a part of how you build a game team nowadays, as opposed to some sign of trying to compensate, I think we're going to see more and more of tight co-development going forward"

Fable

"Playground does make racing games but I think what Playground does is high quality, high craft, attention to detail. They had a particular passion for the IP and demonstrated what the heart and soul of Fable is about and how they can bring it forward for today, a modern take on Fable, there is stuff that I wish I could share and show because some of the things that I've seen are so encouraging"

"Your point is spot on that there is a danger sometimes that you don't want to give the RPG team to go make a racer game, you can get in trouble there, but they've got a great technology base and a passion for the IP and a demonstrative commitment, craft and quality."

Booty shared some scepticism even during some of the first reviews along these lines, but they've since put that to rest for him.

InXile

"I'm not going to steal the teams thunder by talking too much about what they're making but I'll say that in the last 6 months or so of the times that I've gone to see a demo, going to get a demo of what they're working on was a really cool moment, we had all the Studio Heads together and we were reviewing it, and everybody was kind of blown away"

"It was one of those things where they showed us, started showing us what they were working on and a couple minutes in I'm like "Oh this isn't bad for what they've got" and then it went a few more minutes and I'm like "oh they've got a lot to show here" and then I'm like "okay we are 15 minutes into this demo, and it still looks fantastic" and then they're like "okay and now let's show you the next part"

"What they've got done is great, if there was some measure for a studio of the coolness of what you've created as a ratio and how many people are working on it, that studio has to win some sort of prize because they get the absolute most out of everybody and make the most focused use of the resources that they've got, Brian Fargo leading that studio is just a masterclass, these are the resources that I've got, these are the constraints that I've got, this is how big I am, okay what is the best thing I can do with that"

It is completely free Battle Pass at least. I am fairly certain they already announced it would be 30 tiers. Gives me time to actually go and complete Season 2.
