Grounded is taking up the main banner on Steam's home page right now, and the animation is really awesome! Idk how to post video captures on here, but there's a ladybug walking across the screen small thing but a very nice touch.

@Jaywood2010 yo man, it'd be nice to have this kind of info shared on the thread
Not too surprising as Xbox is wanting to get further into the Japanese gaming market. The only Japanese publishers I can possibly see are Sega and maaaaaaybe Koei Tecmo? But that's honestly about it lol. Even then, we're talking like 2 years before this happens once the dust settles of the ActiBlizz deal finalizing?
Yeah, get Mistwalker off that mobile crap!

Hope that it’s not Koei-Tecmo, Team Ninja are tied down to Sony right now and possibly have more exclusives in the works for them and Omega Force are making a game with EA.
They have similar market value with Capcom and they would be the better target, it’s going to be Sega imo but I really hope that they try seriously for Capcom. Also think that Platinum is guaranteed despite people’s opinions of them.

I honestly don't know how Platinum would work with Microsoft. Especially considering the only project both companies have ever worked on together was cancelled lol. Platinum to me has always done their best work with Nintendo. Astral Chain was phenomenal and Bayonetta 3 could be Platinum's best game yet.
It's so hard to picturing a Japanese company agreeing to sell to Microsoft lol. I'm anxious to find out who and when though!

Eh, only 1 of Team Ninja's 2-3 teams is currently tied to Sony, the rest could start making Xbox/PC exclusives quite quickly. Then there is also Gust, Kou Shibusawa, and Omega Force. I'd be ok with a Koei Tecmo acquisition, but I do think that Sega, Square, and Capcom are better targets for Xbox. Marvelous is probably too small to have much impact plus I think one of the Chinese pubs already bought a pretty large chunk of them, so they seem unlikely. Konami has IP's but pretty much no studios, so they definitely aren't worth it publisher wise. As far as independent JP studios go, several good targets there, including Platinum and CyberConnect2. |
Or Arc System Works to get a fighting game studio! Could even put their spin on Killer Instinct.

This is an awesome intro for Grounded! The "O" in Xbox Game Studios is even a callback to Microsoft's old logo from the 80s!
Check out the new #XboxGameStudios Logo for Grounded in motion ?

Grounded is currently at #6 on Steams Best Sellers list! Not bad considering the game went up in price by $10 for the full release lol
The game is also at #10 on Twitch with 90,000 viewers!

Team Ninjas projects have been leaked and it’s possible that some are PS exclusive, one is supposedly a Ni-Oh spinoff that has Celtic mythology. Imo even SEGA would be a bigger get than Koei-Tecmo because they would get Yakuza Studio and Atlus.
Platinum, Cyberconnect2, Level 5, Arksys have to be at the top of the list when it comes to independent studios, they should also look at Bokeh and some other smaller ones like Media Vision.
