I don't know. I mean they are saying "version of 1997 title"... I feel like it is exclusives to this version (and why they specified it); I expect the GamePass version to have online but it is not a 1997 version (it is a remake if I'm not mistaken).

Sad but true. Nintendo knows how important Goldeneye is in gaming history and they want to have the main benefits.
I doubt there was ever going to be actual matchmaking developed for this lol. Even with NSO, online play is only between friends.
