What are they gonna sell WBIE?? Idk who would buy the publisher considering anything besides Mortal Kombat is licensed.

Unless there’s a reason why Microsoft is trying to hurry to finish up the ABK deal ?

Zaslav comes from Discovery which is full of cheap reality crap, on top of that they have a ton of debt due to the merger and Zaslav has said he is going to cut $3bn from WB's budget but some estimate it to be closer to $5bn. There are rumours that Warner Bros. Discovery will move more towards unscripted shows rather than scripted shows, which we can already sorta see: Warner Bros. Discovery Orders 149 Hours of New Unscripted Shows for U.K.

There are rumours that HBO Max and Discovery+ will be merged into one service too but sounds like it will be Discovery which takes priority which would be insanity considering HBO is a much bigger brand.

This new CEO is taking a hatchet to everything, I do not see a scenario where WBIE comes out of this unscathed, I'd be shocked. The only reason I think they aren't being hit right now is because he doesn't care about them anywhere near as much as the film/show division but the cost cutting will hit them too. Though selling them will still be a tough task, for the price that I imagine they're asking for and for it to come with no IPs, I don't see many biting, it's rare to buy an expensive studio that comes with no IPs and understandably so.

I don't think Microsoft will be interested Tbh, they don't need them anymore, they're full with studios now, huge IPs and they clearly hate licensed IPs. We'll see where these layoffs hit, hopefully not the WBIE division and hopefully someone saves them if Zaslav decides to take his hatchet to them too.

If any of the WBIE games underperforms I see him making cuts and letting people go across all of WBIE. When it comes to unscripted shows I don't mind some of the DIY type shows that do renovations and what not. But the terrible reality shows like housewives ugh. Lets hope House of Dragon is a good show and does well for HBO's sake. 

Thankfully most of WBIE games have been performing well. Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga and MultiVersus being notable exceptions this year with Hogwarts Legacy looking to be a massive success this holiday season. Gotham Knights hasn't had the best time leading up to release though. So that may be worrisome if it underperforms. 

God I hope Zaslav doesn't axe too much of what makes HBO and Warner Bros those respective companies. HBO has some of the best top tier shows! And for that type of quality to be sacrificed for DIY and unscripted shows in general would be a travesty.

It would suck if MS missed out on getting some of the WB game studios because of the pending ActiBlizz acquisition, they already lost out on Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal because of it.

I hope Microsoft is able to make Xbox Cloud Gaming, at least, run natively on Steam Deck. Right now, Microsoft has surprisingly been very mid when it comes to making XGS titles Steam Deck Verified. If not PC Game Pass in general, at least xCloud. I'm finally getting my Deck next week and it looks like after jumping through a lot of hoops, xCloud runs very well it seems. It would be great if Microsoft can make it happen! Idk why they haven't added Game Pass to Steam when Gabe Newell's over here inviting Microsoft to do exactly that lol.
