I hadn't played Grounded since early 2021 and hopped back on it last night. Night and day difference! Should be exciting to see what Obsidian has in store for the full campaign.

More Quake remasters perhaps???? As much as I would LOVE Unreal Tournament to get a remaster, Epic doesn't give a DAMN about that franchise anymore

I really love an Alien Trilogy remaster.
I replay that game every year.

Network campaign co-op looking pretty good from Digital Foundry's perspective!

Not sure if everyone can access these Dev Diaries, but Oxide Games has put out their first one for Ara History Untold. Email claims it's for "insiders only" since I did sign up to be an insider, but you'll have to let me know if you can read it. If not, I'll take some screenshots to post. Definitely sounds like they're not just straight up making a Sid Meier's Civilization clone. They'll need to tread lightly though claiming that Ara is a Grand Strategy game as there's a certain expectation for what to expect in that genre. They're going to get Civilization fans for 4X gameplay as well as Paradox Interactive and Total War fans for Grand Strategy gameplay all trying the game out. And if they don't meld 4X and Grand Strategy the way they're claiming, could definitely cause problems. I'm still excited though and I'll give my thoughts when their first technical alpha releases.

I definitely agree with their take on typical 4X games. Once you've learned how each civ or faction plays, you only ever play one way forever lol.

What 4 did they remaster?.

Quake, Blood, PowerSlave, and DOOM 64

EDIT: Also, you can probably take off at least 11 of these games shown that are unlikely to get remastered by Nightdive Studios. They coooooould be the ones remastering GoldenEye though?

Duke Nukem, Marathon 1-3 (Bungie IP) DOOM and DOOM II, Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, Unreal, Star Wars Dark Forces, and Wolfenstein 3D

Doom 64, Quake, Powerslave, and Blood. Guessing they are the devs on the GoldenEye Remaster we have heard is finished and waiting for release due to political reasons. Maybe 2 others are currently being remastered as well, considering he says they have a few more on the way (a few implies at least 3).

Duke Nukem, Marathon 1-3 (Bungie IP) DOOM and DOOM II, Half-Life, Unreal Tournament and Unreal, Star Wars Dark Forces, and Wolfenstein 3D

I highly doubt any of those games would be up for any remasters. So that leaves much fewer options that he may be referring to.

Happy to see both The Pathless and Solar Ash getting Xbox Release dates, I’m still hoping that we get a Kena release date soon if it’s even coming at all. I can see Ember Labs being an Acquisition target for Sony.
