as you might know ,Sony is clearing the existing 80 GB in NA for a launch of new 80 GB SKU. I don't know about the whole country but here you can not find any 80 GB anymore.

All of my friends are now on board to get a PS3 but they didnot find the 80 GB so they are waiting for the next 80 GB SKU to get here.

 Also according to press 80 GB sells as good as 40 GB.

so do you think the sales would increase,,or it will be the same just divieded between the two SKU?cause right now most of the sales are from 40 GB sku in north america

Well i don't know about the US but i know that if Sony got off their asses and released the 80GB over here in the EU there would be a huge surge of sales!

I think the PS3 will see a jump in sales but to has much of a jump in sales im not sure.

It's probably cause a slight spike in sales, which would offset the dip in sales from prior weeks as people wait for the 80gb. I can't see another 40gb convincing anyone to buy a PS3 that wasn't already inclined to do so.

Sales will be up approximately 35-45% for a few weeks as those individuals that wanted an 80 gig are able to fulfil their demand.  Then sales will go back to current levels and approximate the 60% 80 gig 40% 40 gig split that was in effect before the 80 gig went MIA.

The ps3 will go to 300k a week.

We will see just how much of an effect that the re-introduction has when the MGS4 bundle is launched and the weeks after!

I'm hoping that if the demand is very high that Sony will consider releasing the 80GB (bundle perhaps) in the other regions! Would make sense to have both 40GB and 80GB available everywhere... Give people the choice of BC or not!

Actually, I hope that the gun-metal PS3 coming to america is 80 gigs.

I personally know quite a few people that will not buy a PS3 untill the option of BC is available again... Since it was removed there has been a lot of people wanting it! So i would imagine that if it was returned those people would buy the console anyway :D
