Honestly I just hope the game doesn't suck. Screw the guest characters. SC3 was less than impressive. SCL wasn't to good either. SC4 isn't look to swift either. I mean whats up with the DOA female character design?

Yeah, Soul Calibur hasn't been a franchise worth mentioning since Soul Calibur 2.

And even Soul Calibur 2 was a massive step down from Soul Calibur with its gimmicky characters and less enjoyable gameplay. Soul Calibur is a mediocre fighter. With the crappy cash-ins of Yoda and Darth Vader it's only gotten worse.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 had a bunch of "cash-ins" (Darth Maul, Wolverine) and yet it is still one of the best sports games of all time.

And I don't get it, Naznatips. By "massive step down" do you mean that the original was the epitome of a fighting game and that Soul Calibur 2 was average at best? Or was SC2 just horrible? Because this quote...

from the SC2 page says you liked it.

And character design? Who cares?!! Virtua Fighter has incredibly bland character design but shines through with incredibly polished gameplay. No sane man would enjoy a game less because one of the characters has oversized breasts.

Anyways, who would want to play as Yoda?!!

Remember in Clone Wars, how freakin' goofy he looked when he was fighting? That scene must've been made for the kids, because no one else could take it seriously. And cmon, you don't want Darth Vader? We're talking about the Sith Lord here, my friends! You know what kind of cool moves he could have?

Ecch, whatever. Enjoy your green midget. Fools!

--Sorry, I was just having a little bit of fun with that post. Don't take it too seriously.

Soul Calibur 2 was a massive step down from Soul Calibur, but Soul Calibur was so awesome that being a massive step down from it still makes it basically one of the best technical fighters ever.

Around the Network

Neither.
The whole star wars thing is stupid.
Go back look at the Dreamcast game to save this series before it dies of total mediocrity.

The canon of Star Wars says Yoda mastered Ataru (Form IV, the Agression Form) to the "highest degree. Qui-Gon Jinn also practiced this form, though no where close to Yoda's proficiency, which was absolute. Yoda used his mastery of the Force to overcome his advancing age to use this Form, which in turn overcame his "short" comings. No pun intended.

"Form IV, also called Ataru, is the most acrobatic Form, filled with numerous elaborate moves, and relies heavily upon a Jedi's ability to run, jump, and spin using the Force."

Yoda ftw.
