When I think of Germany, I think of such great things like Rechtschreibreform, Killerspiele und Deutschland sucht den Superstar.

Ok you got us there... the Rechtschreibreform (german spelling reform) was totally stupid for most parts... the Killerspele debate was just a reaction to what happend in Erfurt... same thing happend in the U.S. after Cloumbine... only here the laws chaned for the worse... DSDS (german version of american idol) you can find anywhere... just our host is exeptionally stupid...

If those minor things desturb you about germany then you must still be pretty cool with us... I bet you can think of at least three things you like about germany...

I spent a few days in Berlin last month, and must say the Germans are a wonderful people. My experience was probably enchanced by how most of the other countries I've visited during the last few years have been in Southern Europe, and a lot of things in those cultures annoy the heck out of me. I also looked similar enough to be mistaken for a local most of the time, which is always funny.

Sure their history for the last 60 years hasn't been the most glorious, but they've gotten over it remarkably well, and the rest of it is pretty intereting.

It's also nice how they have a somewhat low national self-esteem, and have thus agreed to learn English, something the French, Spaniards, and Italians have yet to do. =P

Nazis, Hitler, beer, cars, Dirk Nowinzki (don't know if that's spelled right)
