Forums - Gaming - Lead platform for Fallout 3 = 360!

Speaking to videogaming247.com in London today, Bethesda marketing boss Peter Hines has confirmed that the lead development format for Fallout 3 is Xbox 360.

“The 360 is our lead development platform, so we got it working on that one first,” he said. I mean, we develop them all simultaneously, but one of them’s got to be the lead, so it was 360.”

I hope that this doesn't mean a crappy port to the PS3...

Then again Oblivion was just as good (if not better) on the PS3 so there is hope that both versions will be equal :D

If this was Fallout 3 exclusive to 360 it would be big news! ;P

Ports to PS3 are improving and by the time this comes out it will be fine, and you only expect greatness from Bethesda as you said also.

This is one of the MP titles that i am very interested in so hope that both versions of the game are equal!

I'm sure they will be, since Bethesda know their shit :D

No surprise, seeing as how the 360 was also lead and primary platform in the console version of TESIV: Oblivion.
I'll be playing the PC version anyway though, so I don't really care one way or the other!

PS: This game will rock, as long as they don't make it to Oblivionesque.

From whatI've seen it's gonna be pretty Oblivionesque and that worries me. (not to bash oblivion, although I thought it was pretty boring)

Yeah i know what you mean Sleepwalking!

It got quite boring quite easily... I actually traded the game in as i just couldn't be doing with it. The quality was great but it was too open for me i thought!

Cue a bunch of PC nerds whining about how this game is going to be "dumbed down" for its lead platform.

I'm damn excited about Fallout 3 no matter what platform it's on. Bethesda hasn't disappointed me in the past, after all. (Well, maybe with Daggerfall, which had more bugs than a nest of fire ants on top of a beehive hanging over a termite mound that just happens to be surrounded by cockroaches...)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Yeah another of my favourite franschises destroyed but this is old news.

I hope it turns out to be a good game anyway, the others were good fun! Even the one on the PS2 was half-decent anyway :P

With Bethesda developing it, I'm still not sure if I'll get it.  But if I do, I'll get it for PC.  I regret not getting Oblivion for PC.  Mods could have actually made that a pretty good game.
