Anyone have a link to John Lucas Wii Fit prediction. It would be very funny if he missed it by less than a million.

Lifetime will be much higher I think. It should hit 10 million before Christmas comes this year. I am thinking more than 50 million lifetime.

They should change it from "selling like hotcakes" to its "selling like WiiFit".


Astro.... 50 million is a little over the top, but it "could" become the Nintendogs of the Wii and sell upwards of 20 million



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I can't believe so many VGC Amazon orders are Wii Fit. That's great, considering that about 99% of people who go on gaming message boards aren't casuals.

This game will rule the world.

I'll pre-order soon, and I'll definitely use the VGC store too.

There is NO WAY that Wii Fit will move 1 Million on 1st week in USA, and even less chance that it moves 500k in Europe !!

1St it s a casual game

2nd No Way Nintendo could provide so much

3rd the game is too expensive in Europe

But it will have stellar sells on long term

Nintendo already said they're providing over 1 million for NA launch day. If it sells through, this could be bigger than Brawl. I don't think it will be that topheavy, but I think it's first week and first month will be nuts, and as the advertising really kicks in and then the casual news outlets and word of mouth spread I think it'll keep going uphill for a while.

I mean, it sold a million in Japan, and they're not even fat over there!

 Brawl was bigger than we thought.  2.7 mil in the first month apparently.  Thats insane.  Given those crazy numbers, I really do hope WiiFit outdoes Brawl.

I stand by my predictions:
- WiiFit will sell (close) to 10m worldwide by end of this year (already 1.8m, Japan)
- WiiFit will outsell BOTH GTA4 on 360 & GTA4 on PS3 - but not both combined

It will probably be the 3rd best selling Wii title by generation end - after WiiSports + WiiPlay.

Brawl actually sold 2.9 between just Canada and US, 3 million for all of NA most likely... It appears brawl huge 2nd and 3rd week drops, were not so huge....

@ioi: Do you actually get preorder data from most of your sources? If so, is there any chance we'll get some sort of preorder rankings, at least for bigger titles?

WiiFit seems to be doing very well on the Vgchartz store, our community is going to be very fit in a couple months time!
