I guess they put the games that sell on the eye level of the consumer, and as well all know, crap mini games collections tend to sell like hot cakes on teh wii (eg Carnival Games) will other games sit by waste basket (eg No More Heroes), sad but business is business I guess.

No. I haven't gotten mad and rearranged a Gamestop because the games weren't set up the way I wanted them to be. Call me crazy.

Oh man, you're a real card. I don't know what we'd do without you.

Unless it were a game like Okami or Jeanne D' Arc, then no.

Not just that, but the big manufaturers pay for best shelf space, just like a bookstore.

The games in the gamestops by me are put in alphabetical order....

So... where on the shelf it is depends on the title.

So Zack and Wiki is pretty much always on the bottom.

I read Gamestop is rearranging their stores to have a casual, aka Wii/DS section, more prominent.

Having formerly managed a Gamestop, I can assure you the games are supposed to be on the shelf in alphabetical order. If they're not, that store probably either sucks and/or is lazy. There's usually a "Top Titles" section across the top, with a "Coming Soon" row as well, but by and large, the sections aren't arranged in any particular way other than by the alphabet.

Companies aren't paying money for better "shelf space" since the shelf space is different from store to store, and it would require countless hours just to determine the "prime" spots in each store. The marketing kit is what companies pay for, and those ads will find a spot in every store, regardless of layout.

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

There are 3 Gamestop around my area and all three displaces Wii games in the front of the store to your left. The right occupied by 360.
