When that game came out, there were an assload of PSP's out there.  I bet there were more PSPs sold at that point in time than there were Wiis in existence when the Wii launched.

However, the PS3 and Wii launched at the same time, so when a whole year later, $90 Wii games are outselling the PS3, that is fucking hilarious.


I didn't say it wasn't sad, pathetic, or hilarious.  It's all three of those things.  But they're still unrelated things.  And like I said in my first post, it's pretty distastefully done.

Vgchartz is missing data for this game, the game was sold seperate for PS2/XBOX/PC, the game also game in triple packs for each system.

21.72 million Gamecubes shipped as of today. 21.72 > 21.5. I stand by my original statement even though I did forget to include the PC sales of the game.

I think the reducto-ad-absurdium effort has been a bit sidetracked. We need another meaningless comparison to get it back in shape.

Cute Kitten DS sold almost exactly as well as Opoona did in its launch week.

Not as much as sony pays you guys,PS3 fans are damn dedicated! In a good way. The PS3 needed hardcore fanboys last year to get it to where it is now, starting to really take off. Nintendo paid us in the N64 G/C days...

I think the point is that usually a console is going to outsell a game... so the opposite is a pretty remarkable happening.

Just goes to show the old "Japan only strongly supports one system" effect that seems to happen.

Wonder if PS3 will be able to fight against history on this one once the Final Fantasy's release.

There've been a lot of threads like this.  Someone just posted how great it was that PS3 worldwide sales beat some other sales just in America a while back.

I want to say 360's.

There are tons of games that have outsold the ps3, so i dont get why this one is more remarkable. My problem with this thread is the intent of the op is purely flamebaiting.

Oh get over yourselves people. It's funny. It's funny because it's a slightly more relevant comparison than a software only game.
