Forums - Sony Discussion - Atlus about Persona 3/4 remasters. P5 Added to PlayStation Hits Lineup ($19.99)

Atlus about Persona 3/4 remasters:

  • Regarding the potential of remastering Persona 3 and Persona 4: “Although we can’t specifically tell you anything at the moment, we have always received a lot of suggestions from the players. We have received and understood the voices of the players, and if there is an opportunity, we will actively discuss it". And Studio Zero’s new game "Project Re Fantasy" is going smoothly. I would be happy if we see something in september at the Tokyo Games Show or at the end of the year ^^

Maybe our wishes will come true@Persona 4/3 :) PS: Persona 5 (PS4) Tops 2.4 Million Units Shipped.

Game of the Year 2020: Ghost of Tsushima, Persona 5 Royal or The Last of Us 2 ?!

Persona 4 Golden is already a remaster, isn't it? A (portable) HD version of the original P4 with added content and features. They would only need to make it available to other platforms, and you are golden (pun intended).

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Doesn't sound like anything to me tbqh

Will be cool though

Might as well have done a thread with the whole interview as it contains other at least as interesting statements.
As much as i'd love a definitive edition for p3 (portable doesn't have the excellent cutscenes), I'd rather see a reboot of persona 1 using the new public knowledge of Jung's redbook (as it used the gnostic lore a lot more and Jung's Liber Novis was only recently officially published), a collection of megaten games from the 8 and 16 bits eras, or a megaten reboot using Digital Devil Story as its base.

I'd take a reboot of Persona 1 over P3 and P4 any day.

I agree, P1 and 2 haven't aged as well as 3&4. They need some cleanup.

Well the two P2 games mostly need a gameplay revision (random encounters every 2 steps that can be fatal in a single turn before you have your own) but that would be small revisions.

P1 on ther other hands need a whole new gameplay, some retcons for better integration in the IP and let's be honest, a complete makeover of the character design.

At this point Atlus' best bet -if they want to go for it- would be to remake the first 5 games (p1 ->p4) on a single engine and outsourcing part of the development. But given they would need to do all 5 if they want to recoup the budget, they would need some massive support, motivation and time.

This is a really good offer if you're mildly interested, but considering an expanded version is coming soon, I would suggest waiting.

This is pretty pointless considering the game's been $20 digitally since November 2018 a few times and you could have gotten the physical version for as low as $15 from retailers at least here in the US.
