In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

It's either you're doing an early april fools or you have a broken Zelda.

What's Star Tropics?

I never played the first, but I have played the second.

It is a very Zelda like game that features time travel and a bit of humor.  I really liked the second one, so I am looking forward to playing the first.

An obscure Nintendo IP that ranks right up there with Ice Climbers when it comes to undeserved appreciation. Both IPs have people clamouring for a reboot, but anyone who actually played the games just shakes their head. I am convinced that people who desire reboots have never actually played the old games and are merely jumping on a bandwagon because "it's cool to talk about obscure games and rally around them, unlike those popular Nintendo IPs which everyone likes."

Startropics is more or less a poor man's The Legend of Zelda in a modern setting where an average dude gets involved in crazy adventures (there were two NES games). Controls lack precision and the difficulty level is ridiculous, especially in the second game.

Maybe you're the one who never got the chance to play Ice Climber. Because anyone who has played it can see it has tons of potential. Put different types of mountains, power ups, more enemies, different weather, maybe a story mode and 4 player multiplayer and you would have a great little game.

While I don't agree with Rol on StarTropics since I loved the game (maybe there's a bit of nostalgia clouding my judgement) I've gotta say that Ice Climbers on NES is a terrible game. It controls like shit and is very repetitive. I do like the characters in Smash though.

That's a shame. Never played the original but watched a few gameplay videos and it certainly looks interesting. Not a great lover of old school games/graphics but loved both the original pokemon and Earthbound origins on the Wii u. Either way, nothing to lose. I will still try it out on the 13th.

Wouldn't be me, as i got this from Nintendo life. Pretty sure the origin of the story came from Nintendo's twitter, so it's a few weeks early for April fools.

Startropics is, i believe the only Nintendo franchise with no representation whatsoever in Smash ultimate.
