An obscure Nintendo IP that ranks right up there with Ice Climbers when it comes to undeserved appreciation. Both IPs have people clamouring for a reboot, but anyone who actually played the games just shakes their head. I am convinced that people who desire reboots have never actually played the old games and are merely jumping on a bandwagon because "it's cool to talk about obscure games and rally around them, unlike those popular Nintendo IPs which everyone likes."

Startropics is more or less a poor man's The Legend of Zelda in a modern setting where an average dude gets involved in crazy adventures (there were two NES games). Controls lack precision and the difficulty level is ridiculous, especially in the second game.

Maybe you're the one who never got the chance to play Ice Climber. Because anyone who has played it can see it has tons of potential. Put different types of mountains, power ups, more enemies, different weather, maybe a story mode and 4 player multiplayer and you would have a great little game.

Startropics is, i believe the only Nintendo franchise with no representation whatsoever in Smash ultimate.
