This was just recently put up on youtube, and it's an absolute must for any one of any intellectual capacity. Richard Dawkins (if you've been living under a rock) is a biologist and author of a number of books such as "The Selfish Gene" and "The God Delusion", Lawrence Krauss is a physicist and speaker. The two sit down together to simply talk science and the state of education. The conversation covers physics, evolution, education, religion and much much more. An absolute must watch for any one who enjoys learning anything.

It's a 12 part series on Youtube, I am posting the first 6 which covers the conversation, they take questions after that. It's easy to find the rest if you're interested, this is just to wet your appetite :)

I'm halfway through it myself right now, and continuing to watch. So far a couple of my favorite parts are when when Krauss is explaining the theoretical insanity that Quantum theory creates, and all possible explanations seems insane.

Also when talking about teaching alternative theories to evolution in school and dawkins says "why don't we teach alternatives to other 'theories' too. Like the theory of reproduction. We can teach the sexual theory and the stork theory, just to make sure more than one side is represented", classic.

 And the sixth part where they are just talking about the beauty of science and the importance of and profundity of our ability to internalize a model of the universe and understand why we are here, it's very moving.

But really the conversation isn't one of dawkins tirades on religion (for the most part), just a thought provoking discussion of various sciences and education from two very intelligent men at the top of their fields.

Richard Dawkins is one of the greatest minds of our age. Listening to him is pure bliss.

I'll watch as much of it as I can before going to sleep, so don't expect me to be awake enough to post my thoughts. =P
