speaking of Earthbound, I still plug in my SNES to play that and Chrono Trigger because it just doesn't feel the same on an emulator for me. SNES controller beats keyboard^^

Same here. In french-Canada, most people call it the super nintendo. As for the NES, that was always just called nintendo.

not when u got a controle pad like mine it dont, but saying that theres nothing like playing a snes game on a nintendo, i jst play it on me pc 4 convinence and to save having to fight me mum ova that snes pad

nah i've never played chrono trigger. to be honest never heard of it until i joined the forum. might download it on an emulator and see what all the fuss is about one day

Hmm, here in Florida I think we called it the SNES (one word), the Super NES (NES being one word), the Super Nintendo, and whatever else we felt like saying at the time including but perhaps more rarely the es. en. ee. es. I think what was preferred among my friends was Super NES but I'm not really sure.
Anyway I love regional accents, maybe y'all should sound off on where you're located so we can see if this is indeed regional.
Where I am (Minnesota) I heard it called the Super Nintendo (most common by far), the Super N E S, and (rarely) the S N E S; never the Snes and (I think) never the Super Nes.
