I've heard that twesterm isn't working on the Wii version, so that one will fail horrible in pretty much all aspects that would make a Ghostbusters game enjoyable.

In all honesty, if we didn't have twesterm here I'd probably say that both Ghostbuster games will be large mountainous chunks of shovelware.

However since twesterm is here I will say that both games will be large chunks of shovelware with the 360/PS3 one having good level design.  ^_^

Pay attention to about the 3 minute mark I believe and then the 45 minute mark.

I've never been one for podcasts, so would you mind telling us the relevant points, Sir?

Seriously, if you're worried about the game listen to the podcast.  You'll hear a little bit about Terminal Reality, some game mechanics, some encouraging words on development, and the fact the guy that played it loved it.

At the 45 minute mark you'll here a little bit about studios developing games with the 360 lead and very few developers making the PS3 lead or even making it anything other than an afterthought.

I'm worried about it because I haven't seen a good ghostbusters game yet and because Terminal Reality is a mediocre developer.  Bloodrayne and Bloodrayne 2 are their most notable games which were okay but not great.  It's hard to imagine a company whose best (IMHO) work looks like this:

doing much with the Ghostbuster franchise.

I'm not writing it off without even seeing it though.  I have hope for the game.  Mostly thanks to you saying over and over that it's actually looking good ( ^_^ ), but my optimism is very guarded especially considering you don't work on the Wii version.

Anyway, hope for the best, expect the worst... pretty much the norm.

I take no offense to your doubts and completely understand them and I can't wait to prove them wrong.

And I should mention again that the podcast is worth listening to on that little portion. There's even one part where they say that Terminal Reality has always had good tech with their own great physics engine but has always been paired with the wrong IP and this looks to be the game that changes that.

-edit #2-

And I don't know about you but that screenshot is awesome! Man, I really have to play BloodRayne 2 now...

I used to have Ghostbusters for my C64. It was an action business sim. You earned money to improve equiipment while busting ghosts. At the end, you had to fight the Stay Puff Marsh Mellow Man. I don't know if I still have that disk or not (my sister's ex-boyfriend got some of my games in the early 1990s).

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

They better have Winston he was my favorite. Just because he had no real reason being their other then he was a guy looking for a job... and the only guy looking for that job.

Me... ghost buster is the very first job i'd apply for.

Eh... I didn't even think about that.  Sorry if I offended you.

I'll listen to the podcast tomorrow (especially the parts you recommend) and I'll see what I think then.

As for the Bloodrayne games... they weren't too bad.  The first Bloodrayne actually controlled fairly nicely and though the level design was a bit confusing at times and the story very shallow, it was enjoyable for what it was.  The second Bloodrayne improved on everything the first Bloodrayne had EXCEPT the controls.  While the first Bloodrayne controlled nicely but they changed the camera/turn/strafe/whatever controls so it became much harder to play.  The first few levels were really not enjoyable thanks to camera/turning frustrations and though I got used to it, I was still periodically annoyed.  The story in BR2 was also much better than BR1 (what little story there was).  The powers in BR2 were neat though.  I had more fun cheating and just playing with the powers as I went through the game than the original non-cheating playthrough.

Don't worry, no hurt feelings. You can't say much that other people haven't already said worse in places like here.

Believe it or not, those type of comments are actually pretty good motivation. :-p

Maybe but design is a team effort.  For as much work as you do, everyone else has to do their part or the overall product won't deliver.  Still, we're all counting on you.  ^_^

Edit:  Those comments are pretty funny.  I really like this one:

I'm hoping they make a real game, like a FPS/RTS. Heh heh...that'd be cool...

New boxart is... just the logo against a black background.

Then again, like Kotaku, I'm fine with that. What do you think?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
