With a new franchise, I'll heed reviews. Sometimes, I get burned: Great reviews for a game I don't enjoy.

Often, I'd rather opt for a well reviewed familiar game that a critically acclaimed "new" franchise.

Reviews can sell games. Z&W, NMH, and Puzzle Quest would not have sold as well without reviews. Reviews will have even more influence with Wiiware games until a trailer or demo channel is up on Wii in America and EU.
