Amen from what i've heard in terms of horror stories. I hear problem A: They haven't scaled the payments to income and expenses properly so you guys pay too much. B: I've heard of men completely taken advantage of - underage or drunk when the woman is sober kind of deal and they're forced to pay. :( It will be interesting anyway to see what happens. I expect there to be about another 100k consoles sold for may than would otherwise though. It's a LOT of people getting it.

Inversely, if you work for a decent company here in the states, your health care is free or nearly free. I just started a new job but when I qualify for health care, it will cost me between $0-50/month depending on what I want.

Yeah, our system sucks for people with shitty jobs but for most people in a career, it's not an issue in most cases (until you have children, then it spikes up a fair amount depending on your plan).

As for Social Security, well, that's just a mess. Serious changes need to be made. Thank you, AARP, for fucking the following generations by convincing your lobbyist base to fight any and all changes to the system.

 That is true. This is why we need to overhaul the entire tax system and structure. I believe we need to move to the FairTax for more equality. We need to depose the progressive income tax and tax what we spend, a better measure of our wealth. And think about this, a Single Person would get almost $200 EVERY month as a tax rebate for the cost of living. That means that instead of one giant April 15 deadline, we get a check from the government refunding our tax money every month. /sigh/ This economic stimulus is but a drop in the bucket of what the FairTax would do to stimulate our economy.

Well, here its not much better. We are facing serious issues in retirement funding, as the current system will eventually collapse and we young ones will not get anything out of it - yet we have to pay a lot right now and the shithead politicians just raised the retirement amount again...

It's a pretty common problem in most western countries. It's just that, for some reason, people love to bash America for it. The same goes for national debt per capita.
