Yeah i can see you did...

Yeah, been on this site much longer than you have. I know how to read the charts...not that difficult. Just got up too early and made a mistake. But again, you grilled me on being wrong...what does sales have to do with "Winning E3". I'm waiting my guy.

And in regards to your edited comment, Nintendo Switch is selling at the same pace that PS4 did...without it's heavy hitters, and mass 3rd party support. Again, Switch is not in its peak years so for it to even be anywhere near PS4 at this time is nothing short of amazing.

I have been visiting the site weekly since 2009 when i got dragon age origins and assassin's creed 2 for my ps3 but didn't create an account to interact on forums until this year so thanks for assuming your enormous lead on me. Nintendo is wonderful i have a switch and love it but i actually don't get blinded and think it is outselling the playstation 4 in any territory except japan and you are far to defensive and angry over that fact so i will make this my last reply.

lol, been here before 2009... And again, nobody was blinded. Now you're just making stuff up. Nintendo has outsold the PS4 in numerous weekly and monthly NPDs in the US. And again, I'm not angry Why do I have any reason to be angry? You just deflected my main question because you don't have an answer. Take that L. Just say it:

"Winning E3 has nothing to do with weekly sales"

C'mon, can't be that hard to admit.

I couldn't agree less with this decision. It feels they are again showing some of the arrogance levels that they shown during the PS3 early days. I really hope I'm wrong on this one.

wow seems like many people don't care about E3 anymore. I still love it. The hype and just the amount of exciting news at once is always great. I don't care what this means or doesn't mean for Sony and their competition. I just love E3 and next year will not have one of the greats.

Yeah, me too. I don't get this idea that e3 is dead or not important any more. The idea of e3 is that week on the entire year where the most important announcements of the big three are displayed and it's a great chance to talk about it, to discuss, to complain, whatever. It's just exciting.

I get that we can get trailers from youtube, but it's not the same thing as a yearly big event.

And for me, without Playstation there, I just don't have much to see. I'll probably skip it.

I'll still tune in to watch the news from Microsoft, Nintendo and Ubisoft, but like you I'm disappointed by Sony not attending.

"We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community" make it sound like they may do something as an alternative to E3 though?

This is rather funny, that you come here with a shitpost pic after getting annoyed that someone suggested Sony copied Nintendo. And call me hostile.

Anyway, the pic you posted is dumb and doesn't make sense. The context is a bit strange too. You said that Nintendo copies, but this suggests that either some claimed that Nintendo did it first, or is it that they got inspired by something else? Did Nintendo copy or get inspired to make Mario 64 from some obscure 1990 game? Hard to believe. As for the actual facts. The first one is not very honest. Digital pads, or just contacts in this case, have been there long before Mattel ventured into the console business. Hell, even Nintendo with their TV game pong consoles had those kinds of contacts. Widely used before any of that in calculators and such. So what is it, the D-pad? Just check this video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnmMDzgTB7o . It's no secret that Nintendo with that gamepad popularized the form factor. We still use that NES gamepad form factor more or less today. Not a intellivision type joy stick phone form factor. Which brings me to the next thing, start and select buttons on the Atari 5200 is a little dishonest. They had different functions, there is no select button on the Atari controller btw. It has Start, Pause and Reset, which were buttons that used to be on the console itself, which Nintendo also had on Game and Watch etc (game mode and selection buttons). It's a dumb thing to compare cause they had different uses too. The third one.. shoulder buttons.. does the Intellivision controller even have shoulder buttons? Can they be considered shoulders? Those are it's primary fire buttons and they all do the same thing basically.

I can go on rambling but I have work to do and you already get the point I hope. When I already got 3 down, I think most of it isn't that hard to debunk either.

So how about you stop the flaming instigating then... Nintendo has been inspired by things and has inspired things simple leave it at that

His buddy has been moderated. No need to keep this going after the warning.

IMO this points that PS5 could be launch during March 2020.

Man and I was hoping for FF7Remake to appear at E3 LOL

I'm guessing SquareEnix is still attending  so don't despair.

I think so too, and I actually hope thats the outcome.

Nintendo showed it works (with the switch), that launching earlier on in the year to fix the initial insane sales works just as well,
and that this way you dont *waste* your first holiday's sales effect.

My thoughts:

-No new PS4 exclusives to announce

-Several of their big titles Days Gone, Dreams, Death Stranding will be released before or around E3 (April-September), so they need big blowouts before E3.

-Leaving E3 really just for The Last of US 2 & Ghost Tsushima which isn't really enough to host a Playstation Conference.

-Showcasing Third Party, Multiplatform games at E3 is pointless now

-Obviously not ready to reveal the PS5 yet

-I don't think any of the existing PS4 games apart from maybe the THLOU II will be "cross gen" but I think PS5 will be backwards compatible and be able to render PS4 games natively at 4k/Unlocked FPS with a patch, just like PS4 pro.

You forgot Concrete Genie, Medievil Remake,... .  ^-^

I see some people saying that this means Playstation is getting ready for PS5 "sooner rather than later". Okay ... sooner than? What? 2021? That was never even on the table.

To me this does not signal some kind of 2019 release, or even a 2019 reveal. We still have Days Gone and Dreams ... and while many would argue that The Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding will be cross-platform releases, given the fact that both were announced in 2016 and are closer to completion I really would assume a remaster for both is much more likely.

Something like this makes sense, I think:

Q4 2019 - TLOU2, possibly Death Stranding release

Feb 2020 - PS5 announcement, possibly Death Stranding release

E3 2020 - huge blowout

Holiday 2020 - release

If I recall correctly that's basically how the PS3 ended it's run and how the PS4 was announced

So because thats how the launched the PS4 it means thats hat they are going to do again?

We know this much. They have cancelled E3 next year. Tht completely takes a fabuary 2019 reveal of the PS5 off the cards or a possible 2019 launch of the PS5.

We also know that 2019 would make their 25th anniversary. Whats the single biggest thing you think they can announce at a PSX 2019 event? Another limited edition console? No.

7nm fabrication is going into full swing next year, which means whatever is going to be in the PS5 can and will be finalized next year.

These all point to a PSX 2019 announcement of the PS5 along with the announcement of certain games already anounced fr the PS4 to be launced  alongside the new console by march 2020.

This not only allows sony to launch the console with a good number of games but als at a higher price of $499. And the have its first unofficial price drop just a few months later in its first holiday season if demand for their isnt as hot at that higher price point.

$500 console launches usually end up horribly.  See PS3 and XBoxOne.  The PS3 took the entire gen to inch into 2nd place, and the Xbox One never really recovered.  Anything over $399 will not find mass adoption.  If PS5 were to launch at $499, all Microsoft would have to do is release the next Xbox at $399, and they would instantly regain their lost 360 marketshare.
